It was a beautiful home from home cottage with everything you need. Comfy beds, lovely setting and great facilities. Jo was a fantastic host, really friendly and welcoming along with her animals who the children adored. It’s a beautiful peaceful location with stunning views all around. Thank you we will be sure to visit again
Stayed here to visit family in both Stoke on Trent and Bolton and this was roughly in between. Had a wonderful peaceful time here and wished we could have stayed longer. Hope to go back again sometime.
Lovely place to stay in a rural setting. The cottage was cosy and warm, and had everything we needed. The only downside was no wifi, but we had a good phone connection so managed with our hotspot. Jo & Clive were great hosts alwsys available and helpful. It is ideally situated for walk, Buxton, Leek and other peak park towns. Would definitely book it again.
Fantastic warm and cosy retreat in an out of the way location. Good access to walks and tourist attractions alike. Had a great 3 days and dog friendly too.
Wonderful location and very friendly hosts. Perfect for visiting Buxton, Bakewell, Longnor and Matlock and others. The cottage was warm and comfortable and had everything I needed. The sheep were very friendly! I would certainly return
The property has everything one needs, quite a lot of basic products such as milk, tea, coffee, sugar were provided.
The heating was on as temperatures were low for June!
The cottage is gorgeous with amazing views. The host is lovely and communication was really good. The cottage has everything we needed and we enjoyed sitting outside taking in the views and inside when it got chilly where it was cosy and warm.
This is an excellent cottage, located very conveniently to Buxton and Leek and Jo is a wonderful host - cozy and comfortable rooms, warm and a very friendly host.
We loved our stay and highly recommend it - on top of all this, the view is to die for!
The cottage is cosy, comfortable and easy to live in. The location is beautiful and secluded with a lovely little village only a few minutes drive away. Plenty of things to do within a few miles drive and lots of walking. Jo, the host, is welcoming and very helpful. We were 3 friends catching up and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay although the weather was very windy and we had rain and snow showers so couldn’t make the most of the outdoor space. We would definitely recommend the cottage and the area and we hope to go back again for more fun times.
We've been here before and enjoyed it so much we have returned and we're about to make our next booking.
It is so peaceful here, the views are lovely (even with the fog!)
The cottage is warm, cosy and comfortable. There is everything we needed and many things we didn't think about but appreciated having such as washing powder to use after our muddy walks.
We'd definitely recommend Lud's Church as a walk, but get there early as the carpark is small and it is VERY popular.
A big bonus for us is that it is dog and child friendly with and ENCLOSED garden and a lovely pond walk straight out the front door.
We set out to have a relaxing/restful week, which we achieved. The weather meant that staying in for some of the time was the best option and the cottage was comfortable. A car is a must here as the nearest village shop is a few miles away by busy road with no footpaths. With this in mind, a small piece of feedback would be to provide some provisions including bread with the welcome pack.
Jo and Colin were great hosts and we would recommend a stay here. (Good news for owners of electric cars - they are having a charging point installed soon - so there will be no need to worry about where to charge after a long journey to get there).
Lovely stone cottage warm and cosy. Excellent location stunning views. Everything you need. Stayed last year again this year will definately return. Thanks Jo
Lovely well equipped cottage, cosy and comfortable. The weather was slightly unkind to us but we had an active holiday lots of walking and even a bike ride. We did manage to sit outside on a couple evenings to enjoy the wonderful view. We will return !
We stayed in the Curlew cottage. A very comfortable, beautiful home from home. We looked forward to our morning brews, outdoors with stunning views and late summer warmth. The cottage was well catered to cook there if preferred. Quiet location but close to local amenities at Leek and Buxton. There's plenty to do and see - we'll be back to finish our list of places to see and walks to tread. One week was just not enough!
