About this property

Wild Atlantic Way Connemara luxury safari-tent glamping with outdoor hot bath.

If you would like to camp but want a proper bed and an outdoor wood-fired bath, then An Cuach at Connemara Glamping is for you. Suitable for couples, friends and families with children 8 and over. We offer glamping for softies under canvas in spacious safari tents (11m x 5.4m) but with all the comforts of home and room to all spread out. Our four tents each have 3 bedrooms and sleep up to 6 adults in comfort (our bunk beds are 4ft wide). All tents have en-suite bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with hotel quality beds, linens, towels and electric blankets. Each tent has its own living/dining room and kitchen area with 2 ring induction hob, and fridge freezer. Sit back and relax on your verandah with a glass of something chilled and enjoy the distant sea views. There are USB points in each tent to charge your devices.

An Cuach has a private, outdoor, wood-fired Boheme bath suitable for two adults on its own deck to the side of the tent. Soak in the tub on a clear night under a star filled canopy

We are in the perfect location in the heart of Irish culture. Irish is the first language here in South Connemara. We have lots of outdoor space, and a communal fire pit for star gazing nights. We are a short walk to a safe, sandy beach - take our portable BBQ and cook dinner to the sound of lapping waves. We have great walks and on-road cycling. There are off road cycling trails, fishing and golf courses within a short drive. We are less than 5 minutes drive to the ferries or plane to the Aran Islands (a 7 minute flight). Our local cafe, Pota, is Ireland's top cafe for 2022 and made the Irish Independent's Top100 Restaurants in Ireland.
Come and explore - there's too much to do to list here but it's less stressful to stay in one place and have days out. We are in the perfect location for day trips into Connemara, or the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. Kylemore Abbey, Patrick Pearse's cottage, Connemara National Park, Clifden and the Sky Road, Killary Fijord, Cong, and Ashford Castle can be combined to make several days out. If you fancy a beach then a trip to Roundstone and Dog's Bay is in order. In the other direction Galway with its restaurants, festivals, bars and live music is a 35-40 minute drive. You can organise an electric bike tour for your group from the site with Fat Bike for a slower experience.
There's something for everyone - from romantic breaks way, to groups of adult friends and families. We're always happy to give you some ideas for an itinerary or try and help you source whatever you need.

Our favorite place
Our adult children joined us in a tour of Ireland and this site is the best place we stayed! Very comfortable and roomy with very helpful hosts, knowledgeable about the area and full of good tips about the best way to see local attractions. They were very responsive to anything we needed- highly recommended!!

sehr besonderer ort!

A great stay !
Michael was really nice and discreet, attentive to our well-being. We had a warm welcome and a delicious lemon cake ! Thank you so much ! The tent is very large as well as the beds which are very comfortable. There is a "real" bathroom, the shower is top. We didn't get tired of the view from the tent which is wonderful at sunrise ! The Wonderful Connemara's landscapes are not far, like Galway which is only 32 kms. We also could fish, just a 10 minutes walk from the tent... Our children loved playing with Riley who is so cute and kind. Thank you Michael and Janet, we spent a wonderful stay !

... almost without needing any. We had a few windy storms come through while we were there, but felt very safe and sheltered. Lovely space, great beds, excellent coffee ... thank you!

Glamping in style!
The tents are huge, but the details and thought put into the set up is worthy of a few comments! Having stayed a few days in a cottage with a lovely view but a tiny bathroom and shower, it was a nice surprise to see the size of bathroom and shower in the tent. It was spacious and luxurious. Also a shout out to the host for providing the most comfortable bed i have slept in on this holiday, and that includes the hotels, cottage and current apartment in Lisbon! Overall the Glamping tent has been my favorite accomodatiin so far and my friends in canada are already looking to book for thier future trips.

A True Escape!
Beautiful surroundings and so much to see and do. The beds are very comfortable, sheets are quality and soft, towels are big and fluffy, bathrooms are nicer than most hotels, furniture is comfortable, and kitchen is well tooled for basic needs. The host, Janet, is very helpful and welcoming- great resource for your trip.

What a lovely set up!
The tent had everything you would want for a glamping holiday. When the sun came out the tent was very warm but it doesn’t have insulation so when it got cold, you have blankets & an electric blanket to keep you warm. It was such an unusual & unique experience - only one light source which was the bathroom otherwise it was solar lighting at night. A walk to the little beach nearby & a drive around the rugged countryside was spectacular & a costcutter nearby for essentials. Really enjoyed our stay. Janet was very helpful & informative & we loved her dog Riley!

Unique Glamping Experience
We are seasoned campers and glampers. This is our first time in safari a safari tent! It was a great combo of indoor/outdoor living. Spacious rooms and bathroom. Not very far from a little store with groceries and other essentials, as well as beach access to Galway Bay. WiFi available. Ambient lighting with jar lights, no overhead electricity (except in bathroom). But, there are a few outlets for charging. Very comfortable atmosphere. We did not miss a television either. We enjoyed exploring the area by car. Provided: comfortable beds, clean linens, fresh fluffy towels, starter shower toiletries, beach towels…and a detailed guest book for instructions, requests, area recommendations. Hosts are very friendly, helpful, and responsive. I will recommend this lodging to everyone!

Beautiful location
The safari tents are wonderful and so comfortable. This is luxurious camping! Fire pit a lovely addition. Location is beautiful. Local food really tasty. Galway an easy drive away. Aran Island ferries only 10 mins drive away. Stunning small beach 20 min walk from tents.
