HIGHLIGHTS:
(SHIMMERS) Villa 8 Porters Court is a traditional Bajan, Chattel style detached villa with 2 double bedrooms, Bedroom one has a super king bed and bedroom two has 2 single beds which come together to make a king size bed on request, both bedrooms also feature an en-suite bathroom.
The exclusive complex itself is a quiet, family friendly gated complex of just 8 similar villas set in lush tropical gardens with a communal pool which has several sunbeds and parasols, there is pool maintenance twice a week and there is a full-time gardener.
Villa 8 is just a 4-minute walk from the beautiful crystal blue water of the Caribbean Sea at Alleyne’s Bay beach, a spectacular sandy beach on Barbados’ prestigious West Coast which hosts the iconic Lone Star Restaurant, Holetown is a 5-minute drive (20-minute Walk) away with beachfront bars, restaurants, nightclubs, supermarkets, shops, and banks etc
There is private parking in front of the villa if want you hire a car (hire cars can be delivered to the villa), if not the bus stop is a 3-minute walk away, the public bus service is fast and frequent and a great way to get around, taxis are in plentiful supply too.
The airport is just 45 minutes (47km/29 miles) away by car.
Beach Club Access at the nearby Fairmont Hotel is included during your stay for 4 people.
VILLA DETAILS:
Villa 8 is Chattel style house with covered veranda to 2 sides which is perfect for outdoor dining, cooking on the Webber BBQ or just sipping an ice-cold rum while watching the local wildlife which includes Monkeys, Lizards and Hummingbirds, there is also a great view of the sun setting over neighbouring land.
Inside the villa boasts high pickled pine ceilings, polished hardwood floors, air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout
There is a fully equipped kitchen, utility room with washer and dryer, a lounge with HD TV, Bluetooth speaker and 2 large comfortable sofa’s, 2 bedrooms with built in wardrobes, a vanity desk and both with ensuite bathrooms, a study area with a small library of books, and a separate toilet.
There is also broadband/WIFI, a phone for local calls, a fire stick for all your TV needs, and there are also a couple of 240-volt sockets for your UK electronics.
A housekeeper is included once or twice a week depending on arrival days, and is available for extra cleans at a cost of US$60.00 per time.
Our property manager is available to assist you during your stay with various things, such as, arrival supplies (for a small fee) car hire, excursions, airport transfers and any concerns with the villa.
All linens, towels, beach and pool towels are included.
In the villa there is an extensive Information Pack with even more information on the beaches, restaurants, and all the various attractions of Barbados on sea and on land.
Check in is from 16:00 and checkout by 11:00 (Late checkout available on request, subject to availability)

THE ISLAND:
Apart from the beautiful warm weather all year-round which averages 30C/86F, Barbados has endless attractions and activities from scuba diving, swimming with turtles or riding the surf to visiting traditional plantations & sampling rum or gourmet Caribbean & global cuisines, to visiting caves, gardens & watching cricket or polo matches
For the golfers, there is The Royal Westmoreland Golf Course 5-minute drive away and the Prestigious Sandy Lane Golf Course is just 12-minute drive away.
And then there are the beaches, too many amazing beaches to mention, but some of the nearest ones to the villa are Alleyne’s Bay, Mullins, Paynes Bay and Sandy Lane Beach which are all great for sunbathing and for all water sports fanatics there is plenty of opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities including diving, snorkelling, water skiing and jet skiing on all the beaches and of course most others along the coast
On the south of the island is the capital; Bridgetown, it is about a 30-minute drive south along the stunning coastal road. It is a lively, bustling town - and well worth a visit particularly for its historic buildings including the Garrison, the Parliament, the Careenage, and the Old Spirit Bond. Oh, and the Mount Gay Distillery Tour & Rum Tasting!
ISLAND DINING:
There are numerous great dining options on the island for breakfast lunch and dinner, here are a few of them
Lone Star, which is a 4-minute walk from the villa, Sea Shed a few miles to the north, Tides 1.5 miles south which is next door to Paul Owens at the Beach House.

When is the best time to visit Barbados: The climate in Barbados is tropical, warm, and humid all year round. Average temperatures range from 23C at night to 31C during the day (73F to 88F). February-June is driest. June-October is hotter with averages of 30C/86F but a little wetter with occasional rain showers, but these are quickly followed by sunshine again and you won't be kept off the beach for long. Sea temperature ranges from 25C (79F) in winter to a high of 29C in summer (84F).
Villa 8 Porters Court has been under new ownership since November 2022 and has undergone a number of recent improvements, the villa has retained the same property manager – Jeanine, whom the previous guests have come to know and love.
