Monsummano Alto in October

We very much enjoyed our stay. The location is under-emphasized— it’s spectacular with a breath taking view. It’s convenient to the A-11 Autostrada and the rail system allows easy transportation to the fast trains. It’s quiet and private, traditional and beautiful, old and unique… a real treat

Great house for a family reunion

Had a wonderful week here with my family from around the world. It's in a stunning location. Gianluca is a great host and nothing was too much for him. As an added bonus, a fantastic restaurant is literally across the road with great views and food.

Views!

This was a great location for us to base our stay. The house was charming and comfortable for our family of 6. Some features took some getting used to for us - the coffee machine, washing machine and the garbage system but the host left detailed instructions and was readily available for questions. Staying over the holidays we appreciated the Christmas decor in the house. There was a fantastic restaurant across the lot and the views from the property were outstanding. The drive up to the property is steep and narrow (not a problem for us at all but just something to note). This house/location is great for an authentic Italian countryside experience. It’s less than an hour from Florence and Pisa. Several restaurants in town and a large grocery store less than 15 minutes, my only suggestion is to add a place to relax (couch) area - there are several beautiful patios with furniture that would have severed this purpose but it was too cold for us to be out on the patios for an extended time.

Straight out of a Tuscan-based Rom Com

This was a beautiful, clean home that made us feel like we were in a movie during our stay in Tuscany. All the rooms had a great amount of space by European standards and the layout is great for 4 couples with a room on each floor. The location is remote so I highly recommend having a car while here. The location, however, was even better than we expected it to be with access to a supermarket, bars, cafes, and the train station within a 10-15 minute drive. Gianluca was a fantastic host that was clearly committed to us enjoying our stay and he communicated with us frequently

Beautiful views from a Tuscany Mountain

Our family spent a wonderful week in the Tuscan hills. Gianluca’s home is well appointed and very comfortable. The property is on the top of a Tuscan Mountain. The views are amazing! The property has a church dating back to 1005 and a wonderful restaurant run by Furio and his family. There were 8 adults and the home had plenty of room for all of us! We would 100% recommend this place for anyone looking to take day trips to Florence, Pisa, Lucca and the surrounding areas! Gianluca was very easy to work with and his communication before, during and after our stay was excellent! A few notes for people who are interested in this property: 1- as mentioned this property is at the very top of the mountain and the roads are quite steep. You will need a car to access the property. If you are unfamiliar with manual transmissions you may want to rent an automatic as the road can be tricky. 2- there isn’t a true sitting room. We spent the majority of our time in the home around the kitchen table, which was great, but you should be aware of this if you’re looking to rent this property. 3-the home is stone and brick and the heating is good but be sure to bring a sweater as it can be cool at times. 4- Definitely make a reservation at the restaurant on property. The food and atmosphere at this place are excellent! La Foresteria restaurant

Nice house in a great location

The location of the house is great. It sits on top of a hill with a great view, and is located halfway between Florence and Pisa. The street up from the town is steep and partially narrow, but not hard to drive, as long as one shifts down. There are many interesting towns and sites of interest nearby, and Pistoia has a great Park and Ride to take the train into Florence. When we were there, it was July and a heat wave. The house does not have air conditioning, but since it is on a hill, the nights were cool, and by opening all the windows at night we could cool the house down enough. The inside of the house is as described in the listing. There is a great terrace at the main floor with a big table under an umbrella, a seating area and a BBQ. We used it every day for Breakfast, and dinner. It is south west facing, so with the heat wave it was too hot in the afternoon, but as soon as the sun went down, we could use it again. Upon our inquiry, Gian-Lucca brought us some lawn chairs we could set up on the shady side during the day. That was great, since we spent a lot of time at the house. The upstairs kitchen is a bit small, only two people can work at the same time, but it is well equipped and does its job. There is a downstairs kitchen as well, a lot roomier, but there is no fridge nor stove, so it is useless. In summer it would make a great living room, since it is the coolest room in the house. Overall we had a pleasant experience and Gian-Lucca was a great host.

Also rund um perfekt! Wir werden bestimmt wiederkommen!
