Terrible!

We booked this reservation several months in advance. The week prior to our stay I reached out to the host because we had never been provided with check in information. We arrived in the country and were jet lagged and exhausted. I called and texted all day and never received a response. Eventually we reached out to VEBO and they also couldn’t get a hold of the host. We ended up canceling the reservation (the very evening of the day we were supposed to check in) and had to scramble to find another place to stay. We were literally standing on the darkening streets of Barcelona with our suitcases until we could book a last minute hotel. We never heard from the host by way of explanation or apology. I would strongly encourage you not to book this reservation. .

Barcelona Stay

The building is very run down and did not seem safe. There was laundry hanging out every window. There was also a sign at the front door warning residents of robberies and urging them to lock their windows and doors. The unit itself is not bad (similar to the pictures on the listing) however the only way to contact the property owner is through whatsapp. The unit lost power a few times and we had to walk to outside the building to get city wifi and contact the owner. The ease of checking in is also very inconvenient. We also had to use the city wifi to contact the manager and get access to the unit.

Very clean!

When we arrived, we were not greeted in a timely manner and had to wait about 20-25 minutes. We had to pay the tax right away and they said they don't charge the children but I think we got whopped on that and paid anyway. Thankfully we had someone in the group who spoke Spanish as it would have been extremely challenging. The apartment was spacious, extremely clean. The A/C could have worked better but not bad. We blew a fuse a few times as we used the stove and microwave at the same time. I had to go ask a neighbor for help as the owner never responded until hours later. But I get it as the most likely are not super-close by. There was only a 10-minute walk to center of town, and Famiglia Sangrada which was awesome! Never had to take a taxi. Overall, I would suggest this property. I felt very safe and the price was right. I have never rented an apartment and would do so again and would reserve this one again if I ever made it back to Barcelona! Hope this helps.
