Amidst the stunningly picturesque countryside of rolling hills that encircles the charming ‘pueblo blanco’ of El Gastor, this attractive rural retreat sits upon what appears to be its own private viewpoint, enjoying an enchanting 360-degree vista of picture-postcard scenery.
From the edge of the village, a country track weaves its way past some typical local dwellings before opening out into an idyllic rural landscape and heading downhill through undulating slopes, steep in places, and splashed with the iconic silvery-green colours of the region’s abundant olive trees. This scenic route from El Gastor to Doña Juana is only 900m and for those who wish to head into the village on foot, a rustic rural track can be found leading east from the house though the countryside into the lower part of the village. Here, amidst a typically Andalucian labyrinth of narrow streets and brightly whitewashed buildings, local shops, some good restaurants and a flower-bedecked central square hum with the friendly chatter of the locals and provide charming surroundings in which to shop for basic provisions and sample the typical cuisine.
