Too smart for old-fashioned travelers like us

The property was clean and attractive; everything we needed for a short stay, including excellent washer and dryer. The problems we encountered with many "smart" features were almost funny: all four of us trying to figure out which light switches operated which lights and fans; how to operate the electronic door lock to get OUT of the apartment; how to operate the complicated fancy shower without getting scalded; how to operate the appliance that looked like a crock pot but presumably could serve as an oven (there was no microwave). An old-fashioned Guest Manual would have helped old-fashioned travelers like us.
