Summary:
Bronte Apartment is a stunning new property located in the popular Low Wood Development, in the small village of Casterton.

The Space:
This spacious apartment is located on the first floor of this popular development and has been carefully designed to create a wonderful home for your next holiday.
With two bedrooms (one en-suite) the property would be ideally suited to couples and families alike. The Master suite also has the flexibility to be set up as two single beds instead of a large super king.
The open plan living dining, kitchen space is the perfect spot for relaxing on a rainy day, cooking a gourmet meal on an evening or for planning your next days adventures. The modern kitchen with NEFF appliances has a built in oven, microwave and 5 burner gas hob as well as a dishwasher because who wants to do the washing up when on holiday?
The comfortable lounge space has amble seating and a large Tv for binging on the latest Netflix series. With Alexa technology, your virtual and human hosts can easily provide recommendations on things to do as well as how to operate the appliances and devices in the property.
A large balcony stretches across the length of the building from the living room to the master suite and provides relaxed seating with woodland views, perfect for those warm summer evenings.
Guest Access:
Guest's are able to use the whole property throughout their stay - a private parking space is also available for one vehicle.
The Neighborhood:
Bronte Apartment is a mere 10 minutes from the M6 and is surrounded by many areas of interest. The bustling market town of Kirkby Lonsdale is only a mile and half away with supermarket, chemist, choice of very good pubs and restaurants and also a wide range of boutique shops. In warmer weather there is nothing better than a picnic by the River Lune and a stroll along the banks of the river towards Devil’s Bridge, infamous for motorcyclists, walkers and cyclists.
Ingleton with the White Scar Caves and Waterfalls Trail can be reached in 10 minutes by car. The opposite direction offers Kendal, the Gateway to The Lakes and Windermere.
Casterton Golf Club and Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club are both within easy reach and minutes away with their excellent courses.
The local pub, The Pheasant Inn, is just a two minute walk away, serving excellent food along with a great beer garden, perfect for summer evenings.
Getting Around:
The property is in a rural location yet moments away by car from the popular market town of Kirkby Lonsdale. The nearest train station is Oxenholme and is approximately a 20 minute taxi ride away.
Other Things to Note:
The site dates back to the early 1800’s when Cowan Bridge School / The Clergy Daughters’ School relocated to the site more recently known as Casterton School. The building became accommodation for the pupils of Casterton School prior to a recent merger with Sedbergh School.
In 1824, Charlotte Brontë and her sisters attended Cowan Bridge School, known as The Clergy Daughters' School.
In 1832, the school relocated to Casterton which offered a larger Estate.
In 1921, this school merged with the neighbouring Low Wood School, becoming known as Casterton Independent Boarding School. The old Low Wood School was renamed Brontë House in commemoration.
In the book Jane Eyre of 1847, Charlotte Brontë depicts her own time at Cowan Bridge by naming it Lowood. As mentioned, the Casterton School was formed in 1921 and the old Low Wood School was renamed Brontë House to commemorate the Brontë Sisters.
