Birdwatchers will find kingfishers, cormorants, goosanders, and dippers along the peaceful riverbanks of Chulmleigh, which is particularly ideal for them. With salmon and sea trout in the rivers as well as coarse fishing on Catham Lakes and Huntacott Water, fishing is a much-liked pastime in the area. Chulmleigh is well located for access to the untamed north Devon coast and is situated halfway between the national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor.
