The region is distinguished for its winding roads, high hills, and picturesque vistas across valleys filled with patchwork fields and vast stretches of moorland. Grosmont, which is known for being the site of the North York Moors Steam Railway, is located in the "Heartbeat Country." Since 1973, the Railway has been maintained and administered by enthusiasts, and it now serves more than 300,000 travellers annually.
