About this property
Luxury 6 Bedroom Townhouse - Central Stamford
Centrally located, in the heart of gorgeous Stamford, this luxury 6 bedroom Townhouse is the perfect base from which to explore the town. With revealed stonework, and old beams, it is brimming with character. It is also beautifully furnished, and fitted with all mod cons, making a fantastic mix of the old and new!
Whether you want to use it as a base and pop in and out, or you want to unwind and relax, you're in the perfect place! The location means you're in the the main retail / eating areas of Stamford within a couple of minutes - but if you just want to say in, the Sitting Room boasts the most comfortable sofa.com sofas, a 55" LG Smart TV with Sonos soundbar, with Waitrose just around the corner to stock up on drinks and nibbles for an evening in!
In its own perfectly setup room, you'll also find my 'vintage' Addams Family pinball table! Available for guests to play (I try to leave some credits on it ready, but bring some £1 coins anyway, as you'll get addicted!) it makes a fantastic and unique addition to The Old Granary. Even if playing pinball isn't your thing, it makes a great talking point / Instagram story - please tag us in, as I love to see it being used and enjoyed...
Proclaimed by Sir Walter Scott as “the finest stone town in England”, Stamford was declared a conservation area in 1967. It has over 600 listed buildings of mellow limestone in the town centre including five medieval churches, all real gems.
We love spending time in Stamford. It boasts some amazing pubs, independent restaurants and shops, and lots of great eateries, cafes and breakfast options - and is a fantastic place to wander around and soak up the atmosphere and views.
Stamford is also very well known for its stately home neighbour, Burghley House. Home of the globally renowned Burghley Horse Trials, the House also hosts many shows, events, festivals and fairs throughout the year - but even when there's nothing formal happening, it is still an amazing house and grounds to visit.
Stamford is also only a few miles from nearby Rutland Water - so if you're looking for a base to explore both town and countryside, The Old Granary is the perfect place to be...

About the host
Hosted by Tim Gaywood

I love travelling - both abroad and within the UK - but I also love my adopted home town of Stamford, in Lincolnshire.
My partner (Lisa) and I purchased a rather dilapidated property here (Number 6) in 2018, and poured a lot of love (and money!) renovating it to a very high standard.
More recently, (Nov 22) we purchased 'The Old Granary', which houses 2 separate apartments; following extensive renovations, these are available from May 2023!
Why they chose this property
Stamford is just an amazing town - it boasts quaint alleys, fantastic Georgian architecture and wonderful independent shops / restaurants / coffee shops - and the people here are just so friendly!
Nearby Rutland Water is also a great destination for leisure and tourism,. and Burghley House is also right on our doorstep.
What makes this property unique
We have renovated, decorated and dressed with an eye for luxury and style. Our aim is that our property should be at least as comfortable and well-equipped as your own home, and that guests shouldn't miss any of their own home comforts, just because they're staying away!
The fully equipped kitchen(s) are kitted out with high-end appliances and all mod-cons, but we also haven't cut corners and filled the cupboards with cheap crockery and cookware!
The main sitting areas are equipped with modern, Smart TVs and Sonos Beam soundbars - so you can relax, unwind and catch up on TV or just listen to music if you prefer.
Lighting is really important to create a great atmosphere, so you'll find a mix of warm and ultra-warm lights, and even many of the table lamps can be dimmed and switched remotely so you can easily adjust the lighting to your comfort, and switch it on/off really easily.
The most unique feature? I have installed my own 'vintage' Addams Family pinball table, it its own room - and it is playable by guests! I usually leave a bunch of credits on so you can free-play for a bit, but bring some £1 coins for extended play... Even if its not your thing, it makes for a fantastic Insta photo - so please tag us in, as I love to see it being used and enjoyed by a bigger audience!
