About the host
Hosted by Andrew

Andrew and Janet moved to the Stamford area about 20 years ago and love making the most of living in the Lincolnshire countryside. Andrew is a retired company director and Janet works for the NHS. Over the years, Janet and Andrew have been letting a one-bedroom holiday cottage called Pea Cottage next to the farmhouse. They enjoyed the experience so much that in 2018 they decided to look into having a couple of shepherd huts. After staying in a few, they decided what they liked and how they could make their huts unique.
Interior design is something that Andrew and Janet are passionate about. Over the years, Grange Farmhouse and Pea Cottage have been featured in various magazine editorials and advertising campaigns. Andrew would describe their taste as more Country Living Magazine than Homes and Gardens. For Burghley Mouse, they've created an authentic space that's full of country charm and perfect for couples wanting somewhere romantic.

Why they chose this property
Burghley Mouse will make you feel like you've left the world behind. This gorgeous little hut is set amongst trees and is a private haven of nature and peace.
While the hut has a rural, timeless vibe, it has a few modern tricks up its sleeve. The en suite bathroom wouldn't be out of place in a high-end hotel, decked with fluffy white towels and a shower that belts out an endless supply of hot water. There's ultra-fast WiFi, and even a TV stashed neatly at one end, for when you want to hop back on the grid for a second. Its sister hut, at the other end of the orchard, shares no facilities, and the only time you might bump into people is up at the farmhouse when you're coming and going. Inside and out, the space has a delightful sense of authentic country charm, furnished with soft style and a few antiques dotted around. There's also the matter of the treasure chest. There is a key to this locked box, which can be found if you follow the clues hidden in Burghley Mouse. If you can open it, then the bottle of prosecco inside will add a celebratory fizz to your relaxing stay in the orchard.
You will have plenty of places to visit and things to do. In nearby Stamford, you'll find the majestic Burghley House and a few great cafes, pubs and restaurants that'll send you rolling home happier and heavier.
This little hut has everything you need for a perfect break with your partner.

What makes this property unique
You'll experience things you won't find anywhere else when you stay in Burghley Mouse. For starters, there's a prosecco treasure hunt. Dotted around the hut are "Seven Clues To The Bubbly Booze," these will eventually lead you to a hidden key that unlocks a steel box in the orchard. It's mad but fun.
Exactly how good is your relationship with your partner? Why not borrow our tandem and find out? Hidden behind the giant oak tree, you'll find it parked together with helmets and a padlock. Good luck!
A few days before your arrival, we'll message you some very clear instructions for two countryside walks and three top recommendations of places to eat.
How does star-gazing while toasting marshmallows sound? The hut has the sweetest arbour benches with a gas firepit, blanket, marshmallows and toasting forks.
Inside the hut is a log-burning stove with an endless supply of logs, perfect for snuggling down and having a Netflix binge.
Often before arriving, guests worry about the bathroom and toilet arrangements. Rest assured, there is no compost loo here, or an under-powered shower slowly sprinkling lukewarm water. The ensuite bathroom is beautifully designed, super clean with plenty of white fluffy towels.
Finally, inside your cute little Smeg fridge, we'll leave you complimentary bottles of cider or apple juice made from the trees growing on your doorstep.
