About this property

Secluded modern Eco House with 6 separate en-suite cabins and no neighbours!

Hidden away in fields and trees, with no neighbours for half a mile, this eco house and 6 en-suite cabins is the perfect secluded group getaway.

The generously proportioned property includes a spacious open plan living space, home gym and bouldering wall. Outside in the sun trap courtyard you'll enjoy far-reaching views of Exmoor and the Quantocks.

Nestled into re-wilded land, amongst young trees and a nature pond; each cabin sleeps 2-3, has its own living space perfect - for curling up in front of the wood burning stove.

Leaving the quiet country road for our private drive you'll next find the main house- self-built in 2022 this timber clad, grass-roofed building is a striking example of a modern eco-home.

Outside the back door is a hot shower for those furry friends and your mucky boots, bikes or running shoes. Through the back door is our amazing boot room, with great drying options for footwear and jackets, here you'll also find the washing machine and downstairs loo.

The main space is a stunning kitchen-living-dining area, shrouded in house plants with far-reaching views towards Exmoor national park as well as our gorgeous immediate surroundings. The kitchen is designed with a love of cooking, it's well equipped and functions well for large groups, with ample worktop space, a 90cm gas range and a large island.

The dining area is designed to work well for medium as well as large groups, with an impressive circular table that splits into two to allow seating for up to 16 comfortably. Just beyond this is our enormous and ridiculously comfy sofa, lots of armchairs and a 55" TV.

Separated from the living space by a quiet corridor is a generous king-size bedroom with ensuite.

For the energetic and playful- the large home gym has got all sorts of equipment, free weights, squat-rack, punch bag and exercise bike. The home climbing wall is something to behold! With professional matting, it's 12m wide, 4m tall and has a variety of routes for every ability. There is also a selection of shoes covering most sizes.

Head further up the track and you'll emerge at the banks of the second pond, with breath taking views for miles and miles, the main house down below and the cabins in the foreground. Each of the cabins can be arranged in twin or king beds and they also have a single sofa bed so can accommodate 3, however we advise that 3 adults is a bit cosy.

Everything mentioned above is yours to utilise, as well as the 3.5 acres of re-wilded land, vegetable garden and pond. The surrounding fields are owned by friends and family so straying beyond our boarders is no issue.

Several footpaths lead from, or from nearby the property and provide access to woodland, rolling countryside local pubs. The Quantock hills are our hidden gem, with an extensive network of trails for walkers, runners, bikes and horses. 3km of gorgeous country footpaths take you from the property to the base of the Quantocks, or 5 minutes in the car takes you to one of the many trail-head car parks.

About the host

Hosted by Matt Milsom

Host profile image
We're Matt and Fi, a married couple in our mid thirties- we're avid trail runners and general outdoor enthusiasts, often found ski-touring, mountain biking or climbing. We're passionate about getting more people to experience nature and the outdoors and host trail running retreats at Browpath Farm ourselves.

Why they chose this property

We've lived all over the world but were drawn to the Quantock hills, where Fi grew up, because of their tranquil beauty and the vast and varied network of trails for running and mountain biking.

What makes this property unique

Starting in 2021, we built the venue ourselves from scratch. Initially Matt built a tiny house on wheels as a lockdown project which we then lived in for 18 months in the field behind where the house is now.

Sustainability has been at the heart of the project all the way through, firstly we planted 350 trees, planted several hedgerows, dug a large nature pond and committed to re-wilding our 3.5 acres. Then we installed the solar array that provides all our power, and the bore hole that provides our water- we are not connected to the grid.

The building project began with dismantling and removing the existing old barn and building the house on the ruins of an even older barn that were concealed within. 2 years after moving in, we started the cabins project; building 6 boutique cabins on the rewilded land where our tiny house had stood. The project finally came to completion in early 2025.
