About this property
A creatives one bedroom apartment in the heart of Canonbury and Newington Green
This vibrant and bright 1 bedroom home is perfectly equipped to make your London stay as comfortable as possible. Architect built and recently refurbished, it boasts one well-lit bedroom, one bathroom, an open dining living area, kitchen and hallway with a variety of colourful artwork and books to help you feel at home. Excellent transportation links to central london and East London mere minutes away, you will also find yourself closely situated to a range of brilliant bars, local restaurants and spacious greens. Super fast broadband and Virgin TV make this the perfect retreat for work or leisure trips.
Stoke Newington is a beautiful neighbourhood in London - well connected to central London but also providing some much needed respite from the bustle of the city. With its hundreds of wonderful pubs, boutique cafes, fantastic parks and independent designer shops, it's a little gem of a place in London where residents all say hello to each other!
It's a very cool area where there is always something different and unique happening - from pop up restaurants, markets and lots and lots of music!
Stoke Newington Church Street has become the main area for independent shops, bars, various eateries and a farmers' market every Sunday. At one end is the wonderful Clissold Park and at the other end is the High Street which is home to cheaper shops, pubs and the start of a stretch of Turkish restaurants who runs all the way down to Dalston. Dalston is infamous for its nightlife and pioneering music nights with many bars and restaurants - Jones and Sons, Untitled, Brilliant Corners are just a few I woudl recommend that line the High Street from Stokey to the City. It really is the place to be for a fun night in 'the real' London. Newington Green which is just next door to the flat has some wonderful cafes and eateries. Jolene is a new eatery that has a communial style seating area with amazing cuisine. Nextdoor is the Lady Mildmay pub which serves excellent food an drink while oppsite is locally owned and run Tarttoria for great pizzas. If its pizza you like, Il Baccio is only stroll to Church street away, a family run pizzeria with award winning pizza. If it’s fine dining you like then try Perilla on the corner of green lanes and Newington green. My favourite is Primeur which is not on the green but at the end of leconfield road on Pethertin Rd in a converted car garage, you must book a table to eat here as it’s the best in the area. Tranga, Accoustic cafe and fish and chip shops are less than a 3 min walk from the flat and all offer great food and service.
Next to Newington Green is Canonbury with its lovely pubs and tree lined streets. Canonbury station is a 4 minute walk and takes you to Victoria via Highbury and Islington in 20 mins . Highbury is the next stop along with its lovely restaurants and green spaces, where you can walk though to Angels Upper Street in 20 minutes. 73 bus from Newington green takes you into central London in 30 mins. The 21 bus takes you from Newington green to the city and old street. Canonbury rail station connects you to Brixton and Peckham or Richmond via the overground and is one stop to the Victoria line taking only 20 mins to get across London. 1hr max to Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted.
An incredible neighbourhood where you get a sense of what really being in London is about.
Best pubs - Londesborough and The Shakespeare (both 2 mins walk around the corner), Snooty Fox (near Canonbury station), the Alma (Newington Green), Trangallon restaurant for a tapas masterclass is only a 2 mintue walk to Poets Road.
Best cafes - Acoustic (Newington Green), Blue Legume and the Good Egg(church street), Z Cafe on stoek newington highstreet.designer shops, it's a little gem of a place in London where residents all say hello to each other!
