Quiet and Relaxing - Beautiful Stars!
Quiet. Wonderfully quiet, well, except for the low sounds of the animals. I was looking to get away from the city and see the stars and I succeeded with this stay. The Ranch hands were really nice. The price was great for the cabin. Cabin was very clean. The beds were extremely hard, so bring extra blankets if you like soft beds. The kitchen and bathroom had all the amenities. They didn't have very many towels/washclothes. Would i go back? YES. I'd go back and sit on the patio watch the horses, dogs, and stars! Read my book and just enjoy the quiet. Thanks for the memories.

Nice place, but don't waste your money.
The cabin itself was used for the ranch workers, so it's not in good shape, the bed was horrible and hard as a rock to sleep on (better off bringing an air mattress and sleeping on the floor), there's a DVD player but it's broken (not that I needed it but just FYI), and if you plan on making it a weekend trip plan on bringing EVERYTHING that you will want during your stay, because I'm sure they'll charge you for an extra roll of toilet paper. They have 3 dogs that make themselves at home in your cabin, and in your bed to. Not kidding, they just jump right on the bed. I do not recommend this place if you have a pet because there are 2 dogs that fight pretty viciously. There's a beautiful pond on the property, but there's a hefty charge just to walk down to the pond and feed the fish. Doesn't matter if you utilize it for 15 min, they're still going to charge you their hefty fee. You also have to share it with the other people that are renting the house or the other cabin on the property, so don't think you're getting a private pond to yourself at the hefty price being charged. The Ranch itself is beautiful, but I'm going to give this a hard pass on ever returning. Instead of Lonesome Winds Ranch, it should be called Hustler's Ranch.

BEWARE, UNSAFE "Cabin"!
The cabin rental was located between ranch home and a metal barn. As we arrived in the dark a lose dog jumped on our passenger and driver door. A young gentleman greeted us and said this is your cabin and I have turned on the 2 space heaters. Since it was dark and late I asked him where do we get to walk on the ranch. He said it is limited because this is a working ranch. You need to check with Amy the host. He assured us that night the dog that jumped on our vehicle would be put up. Now prior to booking I did ask the owner through the VRBO website is this a pet friendly stay? She respond yes if dog is kept on leash. She did mention there are loose dogs on the 200 acer property but she did not mention there are at least 6 lose dogs that charge up at you every time you come and go from the rental. During the one day we were there I did text her that the 6 dogs coming at ours is unsafe. She did agree to put her dogs up so we could walk our dog to potty. And instructed us to notify her every time we needed to go out in a dog free environment. So that meant every time we wanted to leave the rental we would have to text her to put up her dogs. Her dogs resided in front of our door and around our rental whenever they were free. WE FELT TRAPPED! If you are a dog owner you know introducing a new dog to that many lose dogs can be unsafe. Our dog is friendly but was scared by serval large dogs running up to her. The second time we contacted her it took her 30 minutes to secure our safety and as soon as we walked to the back side of the rental 3 dogs charged us. I distracted her dogs so mine could potty. After that we were so upset. My husband and I then loaded our dog up in our car to drive off property to find a place to potty. This cabin is between all of the people working on the ranch. It is not quiet. We could not sit outside with our dog on a leash in a safe environment. I would not recommend this place. If you love your pet and take them on vacation you want to spend time with them outdoors not sit in a rental.

If you love horses this is a great getaway
The cabin could have been better but that didn't dampen our spirits too much as the property, the owners, the workers, and all the different animals were all amazing and very nice and super sweet. It was easy to get to and even in the 100° heat it was a pleasure to walk around. And visit with the animals every day of our stay and to get away from the city and electronics!

A GREAT GET-A-WAY SPOT
If you are a city person, this is not for you. You are in Texas ranch country. However, if like me, you love the quite, and the loudness, of the outdoors and open spaces - you'll really like it. The cabin you will stay in is not a Holiday Inn - it's a small 2-bedroom house, making it more like a home away from home and with all the immensities. Outside of the big cities, Texas is a reminder of the tough-individualism needed to build early America. The nearest town with its many stores and eating places is about 15-minutes away - there you will find almost everything you might need. San Antonio is about 45-minutes away. And, there is nothing San Antonio doesn't have anymore. I stayed a week going back and forth visiting friends who live in several of the nearby towns as well as in San Antonio. I contacted the manager upon getting there as well as when I left. I had no problems while I was there, but I knew I had close contact if I did need assistance. If the location fits your needs, this is a great place to stay. I recommend it highly. Kenn Rains

True Ranch Experience
I highly recommend staying at this property. Going on the trail ride and taking the tour of the ranch is also a must. The Azzaro family are so wonderful and extremely welcoming. This is the perfect escape from the city life. I can’t wait to plan my next trip to Lonesome Wind Ranch.

Picture Perfect
This little cabin is the place to spend quality time with your family!! The cabin has all the basic essentials you need away from home. Peaceful at all times!! You can’t get bored go outside get some fresh air. Walking around you’ll find horses (love carrots), goats, the family dogs and much more. An amazing view of the stars. There is no WiFi which is great. Bring some of your favorite dvds or watch what is there your choice. Amy has a little booklet of all the local eats, shops and things to do. Not far from San Antonio. Over all our time spent on the ranch was a sweet peaceful getaway from the chaotic city.

A sweet little place, but not quite all together.
This little home was very clean and plenty of room for 3. The amenities were adequate with a little kitchen. However, there is no WiFi. That was a little disappointing, for our traveling needs. We were also charged an extra $25/night for the third person, which was not listed until we were sent an invoice after charged. And the guest bedroom didn’t even have sheets or pillow cases on the bed. Towels and shampoo were available, but no bath soap or trash bags. Getting there, it would’ve been nice to have directions and instructions on the reservation email. There was a bit of miscommunication there, but the owner was wonderfully helpful once we were able to contact her. This sweet little cabin was adequate but could use a little more to have it ready for visitors.
