Confused why we paid $125.00 for cleaning but the posted price in the home for cleaning was $90.00. Why the overcharge? Wasn’t for our dogs because we paid an extra $100.00 for them. Can you explain the reason please?
A charming, artistically decorated cottage in a lovely setting.
The beds were very comfortable. Everything in the bathrooms and the kitchen functioned as expected. The kitchen nook was charming as were the Victorian architectural details.
The house is quaint and essentially adequate, yet it has some quirks worth mentioning. While mostly minor, they need to be addressed.
When ascending the steep front steps, one should be cautioned that upon opening the front door, it scrapes the floor of the sun porch, resulting in a very narrow space in which to pass through. This condition makes it difficult to enter with one’s arms full.
The back entrance is hardly a viable alternative as the door is very difficult to unlock and once inside, one is faced with a tiny landing and a much steeper staircase leading to the kitchen door. Again, making loading in or out difficult.
While these issues are typical of an older home, perhaps something could be done to make entering and exiting the otherwise charming little house safer and easier.
Several of the table lamps did not function.
The only other issue we had was with the washer in the basement that stopped working part way through at least one of the wash cycles.
That said, the neighborhood is very picturesque and the location is very convenient. Many shops, restaurants, the beach and the promenade are in easy walking distance of the house. We also enjoyed the convenience of the “beach box.”
Loved! Cute house, awesome location and beach amenities
Spent a wonderful week here with my husband and 20 year old daughter and would come back in a heartbeat! House is super cute, really nice decor, valuable a/c, fun solarium that doubles as a sleeping porch (has opaque curtains and daybed). Foam mattress in master, spring in kids’ room (which was adorable and practically laid out), and spring mattress in daybed. Several kinds of coffee makers (drip, stove top mocha, Keurig, French press). Cute backyard (frequented by a bunny) with patio set and gas bbq. Short (5 min walk) to beach, shops and restaurants. Has locked box on the beach with chairs and umbrella and includes passes for the beach (required!) Water in the fridge! Everything so convenient, and communication fast and easy. One full bath, one half bath in basement, and outdoor shower. TV is low-res/snowy but we didn’t need it and watched a movie on a laptop. Love this place and want to keep it for ourselves!
Charming, comfortable and clean - the perfect oasis! We enjoyed delicious meals, shopping, and the beach - all with walking distance! The home was a quaint step back in time to the way a beach house should look! Loved the classic fixtures, quilts, and decor!
We’ve been coming to Cape May for decades with our extended family , it is our family’s happy place. This year we needed an escape and decided we needed some Cape May magic to lift our spirits. We’ve never visited in winter, and never stayed anywhere but right on beach avenue. This was an absolute delight! The location is perfect. The house quaint, well appointed, eclectic and tasteful in decor, and VERY clean ( much appreciated in the time of COVID). The house was warm, and the bed incredibly comfortable. We appreciated our well behaved dog being welcome, so our entire family could enjoy the getaway. Our daughter loved her room and the cozy breakfast nook where she did her remote schooling each day. I would rebook in a heartbeat- and I plan to next holiday season! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and for being responsive and helpful when needed.
The cottage was in a great loction, within walking distance of the shops and the beach. It was very quiet and the cottage was very clean. The porch was an added bonus.
We enjoyed our stay here, especially having coffee on the porch in the mornings. Great location walking distance to everything. Looks just like pictures
