Town: On the Furness peninsula, six hamlets make up Kirkby-in-Furness, which has a view of the Duddon estuary. A general store, two pubs, and a Cumbrian Coast Line train station are located in the village. Broughton-in-Furness, which is only five miles away, has a lot to offer tourists, including a charming square with cobblestones and a magnificent horse chestnut tree that is surrounded by stores, pubs, and homes. The village offers a perfect starting point for a hiking or climbing holiday, with plenty of opportunities to explore the Duddon Valley's untamed beauty and the more sedate Lake District fells. The historic market town of Ulverston, which still hosts a street market every Thursday and Saturday, is located east of Kirkby-in-Furness. The town is now well recognised for hosting festivals all year long, including the famed Dickensian festival in late November and walking and art festivals in the summer. Since it is now the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world, one of the town's major claims to fame is that Stan Laurel was born there! Many stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, a movie theatre, and a recreation centre are among the amenities. The World of Beatrix Potter, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, and Muncaster Castle are just a few of the neighbouring family-friendly attractions. The National Park's attractions are all reasonably accessible.
