Caedmon’s Cottage is an authentic traditional fisherman’s cottage with a modern twist. The interior has some eye-catching stylish touches, that give a whole new lease of life to a historical cottage, whilst still retaining many charming original features. Stepping inside you can watch the bustling cobbled road, lined with cafés, shops and olde world pubs from your front window, the perfect spot for people watching, whilst the blinds give you privacy if you wish. You have the living room on the ground floor, with comfortable seating. Spiral stairs take you downstairs to the kitchen, which is with the dining area, perfect for those cosy nights in where you can create home cooked meals to enjoy together. Upstairs on the first floor you have two double bedrooms, one with views over the harbour, plus a shower room. Then on the top floor under the eaves you have a twin bedroom with views from the window seat down over the cobbles, and from your en-suite bathroom you have harbour views.
Whitby is a seafaring town and proud of its heritage; there are tales of Viking invasions, heroic sea rescues as well as seafaring pioneers. Discover more at the museums, including one on a tall ship in the harbour. There are also festivals throughout the seasons including the bi-annual Goth weekends and the regatta, you can often find live music in the pubs or at the Spa Pavilion.
Further afield the surrounding North York Moors National Park is full of moorland and woodland trails. You can explore by car or hop on the heritage steam train, which leaves Whitby and travels over the moors towards the market town of Pickering, stopping at picturesque villages along the way. There is also an array of seaside towns and villages along the coast to visit, with breath-taking beaches and coves. For keen walkers you can follow the Cleveland way coastal footpath which connects them. To the south you have Robin Hoods Bay, Boggle Hole, Ravenscar and Scarborough, and to the north you have Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Staithes and Saltburn. Most pubs and cafes are dog friendly, there is even a dog bakery in the town! Beach ¾ mile. Pub and restaurant 50 yards.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 8 guests.
