About this property

Loire Valley Priest's Village House 2 Acres, Pool, 7 Bedrooms.

2 Acres of Gardens and Heated Pool in a Picturesque Village with Popular Bar/Restaurant.

Normally you have to choose either a village location or a large property in France. But with this property you can have both and can sit under the fruit and oak trees in the large gardens, swim in the heated pool, have a game on the property's boules court and then walk 100m to the local restaurant for lunch. It's only 15 minutes to the beautiful medieval town of Loches which has a food and wine market twice a week, or 40 minutes to chateaux like Chenonceau and Villandry or to vineyards of Chinon and Borgueil.

Relaxing Farmhouse Perfect For Families and Friends

We stayed at Kristina’s place, La Cure, for one week in the first part of July. The property is large and the main house and small guest quarters are wonderful. The main farmhouse is quirky and has lots of character - everything you need. The guest quarters are adorable and perfect for a couple and their child or three teens (as was our case)! The pool, pool table, bocce ball court and dart board provided lots of fun and distraction. The village is very small with only a restratuant/store that has limited hours but is useful and convenient for small items, a cappuccino on n thé morning or a simple meal. This property is in the countryside, surrounded by sunflower fields, wheat fields and agriculture so if you are looking for quiet and relaxing this is it. Tours, the main city, is an hour away and worth a visit. Most of the chateau are at least an hour away although Loches is very close and worth a visit - was wonderful. We had a great time.

wonderful stay

We had wonderful and relaxing holidays in this property. We rented the two houses for our party of 8 adults and 7 children between 2 and 11. We especially enjoyed the pool and the garden as we spent almost all our time outside.

Perfect house for a perfect week

We had a lovely stay- the house was enormous and therefore very well equipped for a stay with nine adults and three babies. The interior design was rustic and cosy, the amenities comfortable and convenient. Kris and Amanda were extremely helpful with regards to arranging a birthday cake for one of our babies on our day of arrival! We highly recommend a stay at this beautiful location!

Wonderful escape to the country

The property was a typical French farmhouse with bags of character set in a quiet village in the middle of the countryside. Large garden and lots of facilities to keep all of our party, aged 3 to 65, occupied. Great local bar / restaurant within walking distance and easy access to all the Loire valley attractions by car. We all had a great stay and will recommend to others.

Fabulous house

We had a wonderful time - the set up was perfect for our 3 family holiday with kids ranging from 9 - 18. It was a treat to find a village house with such a big garden - so the smaller kids had tons of room to run around swallows and amazon style, and the older ones could go for bike rides or walk to the local bar for a drink. The accommodation was very stylish and comfortable and felt like a home (a particularly nice one) as opposed to a sterile holiday let. The games barn provided hours of fun. The pool was a perfect temperature. We explored local markets, had fun at a local river beach and bought too many treasures at the local broccante market which miraculously remained in tact on various flights home. Amanda was very helpful and organized taxis and restaurant bookings (the local restaurant does a remarkably good value set meal). A perfect holiday and we all agreed we'd love to return.

The property is a very well maintained home with a large well maintained garden and private pool .

On arriving at the property we were met by the housekeeper who is extremely helpful . Prior to the visit helped to arrange a booking at the local restaurant and arranged a birthday cake from the local patisserie. The house comfortably accommodated our party of 14 allowing private space . It is extremely well equipped and had everything we needed for 4 small children . The house although has steep stair cases there is ample safety gates to keep young children safe . There was also a boules court , plenty of bikes and a pool and dart board which kept the younger adults entertained. The local restaurant is extremely accommodating and the food was delicious. The property is close to some larger towns were you can enjoy the great French markets with all the fresh produce . As a family we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely use this property again .

A lovely house in a lovely setting

We had a wonderful two weeks in the house. From Amanda’s welcome, it served both as a base for exploration of the surrounding areas and a place for relaxation and enjoyment in itself. The location is perfect, with plenty of walks locally and it’s only a 15 minute run to a wonderful boulangerie/patisserie (so important for a real holiday!). The local restaurant fitted in nicely with meals also allowing for the children. The house itself is lovely. The rooms are nicely furnished and the beds, so important on holiday, were wonderful to sink into after a hard day’s holidaying. The stairgates, dishwashers and washing machines were welcome in coping with the numbers of children and adults who made up our party. The pool, when the weather permitted, was something the adults, but even more, the children, enjoyed to the full.

Superb accommodation for large groups

Fifteen members of an extended family spent a week at both properties from late July to early August 2017. This place is a gem. All the photos and descriptions on the website are very accurate. The houses are very spacious and are well stocked. Plenty of room to escape for some quiet time. The accommodation is located in the centre of an attractive and peaceful village and the surrounding farming countryside is delightful. There are attractive villages with markets not far away and there are some very good restaurants to choose from in the area including the local bar/cafe. Highly recommend La Promenade at Le Petit Pressigny for an excellent dining experience. The local manager has a wealth of knowledge and suggestions. We spent most of the time enjoying the comforts of the property including the pool with its many sun lounges, boules court and games room. We enjoyed sitting out at the very large dining table in the garden til late in the evening. I highly recommend this place for groups of friends or large families. You will not be disappointed

Delightful in every way

It was a delight ! We so much appreciated Amanda’s kind welcome and showing us around . The gite itself was absolutely superbly appointed – I need not have brought all the house keeping items that I did! Amanda was amused! Mum very much appreciated all your decorative touches- as did I, and the rooms were so lovely and comfortable - with delicious views! Quite like being in a novel! We enjoyed petanque , swam in the pool , made expeditions to many places of interest round about, enjoyed the village and the historic church, ate in the restaurant a couple of times- thank you for that recommendation. Marc is a charming patron. The garden was a delightful space to sit out in and we all enjoyed quiet reading and writing there as well as strolls through the village- I am quite missing the bells. A week just was not long enough- it flew by! We only had one bike ride!! We would love to come again ! I can honestly say also that in our many years of gite stays , your has been the loveliest ! Thank you- you have a lovely property in a lovely area! We all send our sincere thanks. H, M, H , B, C and Granny Haines

Marvelous Authentic French Experience

This property is exceptional. The house is a large, traditional country home in a small Village. The house has separate wings giving lots of space for families or couples. It is very well appointed and stocked. There is nothing you could want for. The outdoor areas are beautiful including the pool, property itself and outbuildings (barn turned into games room). Amanda, the property manager was helpful and responsive. The property is situated in the southern Loire region and is within an easy drive to fabulous markets, chateaux, wine regions and interesting small cities such as Loches or Amboise. From the house, there are walks and trails, some taking you past troglodyte homes. We have been to France many times but this home in this location tops them all. A marvelous authentic French experience.

Really magical, special place to stay

Les Roses was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. We were two adults and two kids and the property was perfectly equipped for our needs. We peeped into the smaller cottage, Lavande, and that was lovely too! Both properties have been tastefully decorated with characterful things, clearly the owners have put much of themselves into the property and want others to enjoy the house and area as much as they have when they lived their. We had a brilliant week, despite overcast weather, and Kris's tips and suggestions via email and in the welcome book, were gratefully taken up. A week of picnics, local markets (getting delish produce for picnics! ) bike rides (bikes provided - fab) and so much fun in the beautiful, rambling garden and perfect-temperature, safe-for-kids pool. The week was made extra special by the warm and genuine welcome from Amanda and the really helpful interaction with Kris the owner - clearly they are a good team. This is no mercenary business rental - it's clearly a magic place and the owners want to pass on some of the joy of experiencing a little slice of beautiful France!

Relaxing in Loire

We had a fabulous and incredibly relaxing week at Les Roses this summer. The house is centuries old and decorated with interesting antiques and paintings, but has all the modern comforts you could want. We spent hours in the garden under the big old trees reading books, playing games and drinking local wine. The house is in a beautiful part of the Loire, with lovely villages, markets and towns in all directions. We found it hard to drag ourselves away from the house, pool and garden though! We'll be back, but for 2 weeks next time

Perfect

My stay was memorable and special - it far exceeded my expectations. First, the properties are beautiful and charming. They have been decked out with love and care and style. The gardens are huge, which I did not expect, and I had no sense of where the land finished and the next property began. The pool was a treat as well as adventures around the property finding a well, a cave and firewood. The local village is charming but my favorite thing was sitting in the garden, under the trees and relaxing in the old world charm of this wonderful place.

La Cure (Ferrière-Larçon, Loire Valley)

La Cure is a magical place. Two beautiful houses on huge gardens right in the middle of a lovely village. The houses are centuries old and have lots of charm but are also extremely comfortable and equipped with everything you can possibly want. We loved the comfortable beds and ironed sheets! We spent hours around the pool and sitting under the trees in the garden. There are lots of chateaux and places to visit nearby and a great food market 10 minutes away in Loches - the owners have left excellent notes on what to see and do. For our evening meals we alternated between a BBQ in the gardens after a swim in the pool, or a trip to one of many good restaurants in the nearby villages. Couldn't recommend it more highly! It's perfect for big groups of friends or families.

Our favourite family holiday

We have stayed at La Cure several times over the last few years and absolutely love going back. Located in a pretty village, the house is very homely with everything we could need. We have two young children and find it perfect for family holidays with plenty of toys, bikes, an extensive garden and swimming pool. The owners also provide fantastic recommendations for things to do in the region. This area of the Loire is particularly beautiful with many impressive chateau and pretty towns nearby, there is so much to see. It is equally lovely to spend the day relaxing and enjoying the house and garden. Each of our holidays there has been wonderful and we will definitely be going back!

Less Roses Magnifique!

What a beautiful house in a seriously gorgeous part of the world! Blossoming with exquisite decor and French charm, Les Roses provided everything we could need or expect. A few key points that far outdid the 7 other accommodation choices we used whilst in Europe were 1. great wifi connection 2. awesome water pressure 3. all appliances were in great working order 4. beds were extremely comfy. 5. great reading material and plenty of well written instructions and directions for the area. The house caretaker was the sweetest and most helpful person I think I have ever met and was always available to give us the direction and advice we required to make our stay easy and fun. Ferriere-Larcon is perfectly situated too, providing a number of interesting day trip options to explore. We really loved the church nearby with the clear, magical healing well and especially enjoyed Les Roses swimming pool and the markets in Loche. As an artist, I personally, felt inspired by the beauty and serenity and created some satisfying artworks! I will happily recommend Les Roses to travelling friends and family and am looking forward to visiting again in the future. ~ Arna and Daisy
