External kitchen with electric cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. Enclosed orchard with garden furniture. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. A stay in Mahalia will be like stepping back in time with all the cosy comforts of today but with a sympathetic nod to 1917. The furnishings are of the period and vintage right down to bone china crockery for your morning cuppa, afternoon tea and evening bedtime drink, or a glass of something a little stronger. The converted Goods Wagon used for transporting bananas is your sleeping quarters with a beautiful comfy double bed. The en-suite has a large shower for your comfort. Breakfast can be taken outside in the sunshine or in the external 1950s style kitchen which overlooks a wildflower meadow where muntjac deer regularly graze.
You are welcome to wander the meandering paths in the meadow and enjoy the flora and fauna or sit and just be. Buzzards, marsh harriers and sparrow hawks are regular visitors and often give an amazing aerial display. Binoculars provided will give you a ring side seat. A short walk up the drive brings you to all the village amenities. The local supermarket has an in house bakery ideal for breads and pastries. There are eateries to suit all tastes. There is fine dining, two Indian restaurants, Chinese takeaway, fish and chips, pub and British Legion. There are also two garden centres, both with excellent cafes. Also a beautiful country church, all in walking distance.
Places to visit include Wicken Fen, Newmarket, Bury St. Edmunds, Ely and Cambridge all within easy travelling distance and offer interesting experiences.

Quaint little hideaway!
Phil and Jan have created a lovely place to relax and enjoy. You feel like you are in the country but are right near anything you may need. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, the sitting room was nice and the kitchen/dining room were filled with anything you would need for your stay. There are trails to walk both on and off the property. And you have easy access to any direction you want to go. The bonus is you get to spend time with Phil and Jan. They are wonderful people who really made our stay special. They are knowledgeable about their own property and it's history as well as the surrounding area. We are hoping to visit them again. I would highly recommend you stay here!
