Recently completely renovated, this characterful stone-built cottage sits in the picture-perfect village of Newton-on-Rawcliffe in the North York Moors National Park.
Ideally situated just a two-minute walk from the village pub which opens at evenings and weekends, and four miles away from the market town of Pickering. Here you will find a wide variety of cafés, shops restaurants and pubs, as well as museums, a weekly market and the famous North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
The cottage is accessed via a gravel driveway, with your own parking area. Access through the beech hedge to your south-facing gravel courtyard, perfect for enjoying the morning sunshine with tea or coffee to start your day. Step inside, into a good size entrance hall, complete with coat rack, seat and boot storage area. The large, open-plan living area is accessed down two stone steps and is an open-plan, bright and inviting space, with a modern and well-equipped kitchen. The living area benefits from two large sofas, a Freeview TV and a picture window towards the garden.
There is a spacious bedroom, with a zip and-link super kingsize bed, wall-mounted Smart TV and ample storage. The second bedroom comes complete with a good-sized single bed and Smart TV. In the modern and stylish family bathroom, you have a walk-in shower. Underfloor heating runs throughout the property.
As well as your private courtyard, there is a picturesque shared garden area, which looks out onto a peaceful paddock. A picnic bench amongst the wildflowers give you the perfect place to eat whilst listening to birdsong and the gentle hum from the bumble bees.
Newton on Rawcliffe is a great base to explore the area, attractions nearby include Dalby Forest (a haven for mountain bikers and walkers alike), Castle Howard, Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo and the historic city of York. The Heritage Coast of Yorkshire is within easy reach, allowing you to explore Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, Scarborough, Sandsend, Cayton Bay and Bempton Cliffs.
Whatever time of the year you visit the area, there is always something happening, with numerous events including Dark Skies festivals, farmer’s markets, summer country shows, and plenty more.
