About this property

Award Winning Cotswolds Eco House

A beautiful place to stay in the Cotswolds with 4 fantastic pubs within 10 minutes walk of the house.

Giles Coren described one of the pubs as serving "the best pie and pint of your life."

There are a huge number of stunning country walks direct from the front door.

It is a large, spacious Scandinavian made eco house. Solar panels. Triple insulated. Air filtration.

4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, washing machine, 360 Mbps internet, 55 inch tv, large private garden and summer house.

Wheelchair friendly with 2 bedrooms on the ground floor.

Blackout curtains/shades throughout.

Bedroom 1 - queen
Bedroom 2 - can be a superking or twin
Bedroom 3 - can be a superking or twin
Bedroom 4 - 2 singles

Lots of parking, easy for driving, direct trains from Charlbury to London and Oxford. The Charlbury train station is an 8 minute walk from the house. Direct buses to Oxford, Woodstock and Chipping Norton from the end of the drive.

Garden is dog and child secure.

Blenheim Palace - 15 minute drive
Soho Farmhouse - 14 minute drive
The Bull pub - 3 minute walk
The Bell pub (Daylesford) - 3 minute walk

A big effort has been made to make the house environmentally friendly. Including high quality, low VOC paint used throughout, upcycled and handmade furniture, art from local galleries and sustainable toiletries.

As shown in the photos there is a long private drive with space for ~6 cars. There is also free parking on almost all the lanes nearby.

2 of the bedrooms are on the ground floor so it's great for guests in wheelchairs or with limited mobility.

Dinosaur sheets available on request for kids!

For laptop work, there is an electric sit/stand desk and a swiss ball to sit on.

I leave a lockbox with the key for you so you have flexibility when you want to arrive. I'm often flexible with check-in and check-out times.

Perfect location for Oxford, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds!
This property is very well-presented, clean, and bathed in natural light. As a family of five adults, the accommodation suited our needs very well and is well located to access Oxford, Blenheim Palace, and the beautiful Cotswolds. The host is highly responsive and attentive to guests' needs, providing local information and recommendations.

Excellent property in an excellent location
We stayed at the property for a whole family getaway. We needed a property that could sleep two families of 4 and an elder relative with mobility challenges. This place was perfect. Plenty of bedrooms for the families, comfortable social spaces, well equipped kitchen and a completely accessible ground floor (inc shower).Location wise, it was perfectly situated between Oxford and the Cotswolds. Family from the south coast even came to join us for a days outing. The village itself has pubs, coops and takeaways. The host was great. Very accommodating to our needs. Great communication before and during our stay. We’ll likely use the property again in the future.

Lovely clean house in Charlbury
Had a great stay, Nick was quick to respond to any queries, was in a quiet location, perfect for our weekend getaway. Only recommendation is to update location on google maps and waze as it takes you to the wrong place.

Successful birthday weekend in Oxfordshire.
Applecross was the base for day trips to Blenheim and Oxford. Excellent base for 5 adults and a lively 6 year old. House is big, obvious quality and architectural / lo-energy interest. Garden was great for sitting and 6 year old running around. Charlbury has most things you need.
