About this property

Beautiful eco lodge with amazing views and tranquil surroundings

If you are looking for complete peace and tranquility, gorgeous views, wildlife sightings and luxury accommodation, look no further. Our beautiful eco lodge is situated at an elevation of 180 metres, nestled in an SSSI with panoramic views of the beautiful Vale of Wardour and across to Dorset. There are beautiful walks in every direction or you can sit on the verandah and encounter the local wildlife.

The lodge is very well appointed with luxury bed linens, a well equipped kitchen and cosy living space. The veranda is a beautiful spot to watch the sun rise, enjoy a morning cuppa or just soak up the incredible view. The setting is wonderful for eating outside or dozing in the sun - there's lots of seating options. The bathroom has a lovely big shower, basin and toilet - a composting toilet but don't be afraid! It looks and operates just like a regular loo. We provide fluffy towels and bathrobes and beautiful toiletries selected to be luxurious to use and gentle on our planet.

There's fast wifi throughout the lodge and a bluetooth speaker for tunes and podcasts.

Situated at the edge of the Wiltshire wildlife reserve, there are beautiful views in all directions. We are in a Dark Sky Conservation Area so there is very little light pollution and the star canopy is absolutely stunning - binoculars provided. There are plenty of maps if you fancy trying one of the many beautiful walks in the area.

The hamlet is very small and quiet with a village shop and two pubs less than a mile away. It's a 10 minute drive to the Medieval hilltop town of Shaftesbury for gorgeous old buildings, shopping, supermarkets and the iconic Gold Hill of Hovis fame. A 10 minute drive brings you to Tisbury which is a delightful village with great local shops and pubs and the nearest station. It's 40 minutes to Bath and 40 minutes to Salisbury.

Relaxing Stay In A Wonderful Place
We had an amazing stay at this property. Inside, the property is very well appointed, with a great welcome pack. The views from the garden are spectacular and we spent a lot of time just relaxing out there. There are plenty of walks on your doorstep, with the excellent Foresters pub being about 1.5 miles away. We went for a "get away from it all" break and this place absolutely delivered. Highly recommended and we would love to return.

Arcadian bolt-hole in Wiltshire
This rural cozy retreat, impeccably presented & tastefully furnished to a high standard, has amazing views of a timeless bucolic landscape unchanged since Hardy's time. There are lots of things to see and do (walking, Shaftesbury, Old Wardour Castle, etc.) but just staying put is a treat. The cottage is very peaceful and comfortable, and the kitchen is fully equipped. There is also a small library of some fiction and local history books and lots of maps. On clear nights you have a fantastic views of stars, as this is located in a Dark Sky conservation area. Bring your binos! The outdoor living area is just as beautiful with pots of colourful flowers and plants. There is a garden table and chairs, BBQ, and on the veranda a sofa. Stanley, one of the two cats, might honour you with a visit. He is very curious and friendly. Lois is the shy one. In bad weather, curling up on the sofa with a book, mug of tea and slice of cake is just perfect. We received a wonderfully warm welcome from the delightful hosts. Thank you! :-) We will definitely be back.
