The apartment is located in district "Oud West" (Old-West), a neighbourhood for anyone who wants to enjoy the bustling character of the city together with the locals. In recent years, the neighbourhood has become a popular neighbourhood among people in their twenties and thirties. The explanation is simple: "Oud West" has an endless amount of hip coffee shops and affordable tasty restaurants. The old tram depot of the district has been renamed "De Hallen" (The Hallen): a new hotspot in Amsterdam where you can eat and drink at one of the many street food stalls and where you can even go to the cinema. Monthly activities such as the "Local Goods Market" are organized here.

Here an example of the several walking tours:
This walking tour is for culture lovers who like to visit museums. The Museumplein is of course not to be missed during this route. In addition, you will see a lot of interesting architecture, both old and new. People who love good food will also get their money's worth at the countless cafes and restaurants on the "Overtoom" and in "the new Hallen". It is a long tour, which you can also do well by bike.

You start at the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum or the Stedelijk, all of which have been thoroughly renovated in recent years. At the Rijksmuseum, this may have yielded the most special result. In 80 rooms that have been beautifully renovated, you can immerse yourself in the history of our Dutch masters, with Rembrandt's Night Watch as the highlight.

Afterwards you can relax in the "Vondelpark", the most famous park in Amsterdam. You continue your way towards Oud-West and discover numerous creative companies that have settled here in recent years. In the "Kinkerbuurt" (Kinker neighbourhood) you will pass "De Hallen"(The Hallen), the newest cultural and culinary hotspot in the city. Since 2014, this former tram depot from the early 20th century has been home to stalls with tasty dishes: a perfect concept for a pleasant evening out with friends. These "Foodhallen" are the ideal stop for both large and small hunger.

The advantage of this Houseboat-Apartment is that it's situated in the heart of Amsterdam on walking distance from the most desired areas in the old town and close to most attractions, shops, restaurants and nightlife.

Great property in great location
Only downside was the weather - stayed in Amsterdam during record high temperatures 38c plus for 3 days. No A/C so houseboat was very hot. This was the same for most Amsterdam residents so not a negative comment on the accommodation although could have done with an extra, quieter fan. Overall great property.

Unique, quiet, and comfortable
What a delightful spot in Amsterdam! Very comfortable bed and living space. Bathroom spacious and modern. Kitchen had everything one needed and easy to cook there. We used the deck outside to sit at the table and share a bottle of wine while the boats passed by. Our Host was very responsive and pleasant. Highly recommend!

Unforgettable!!
We stayed in May 2024 for 2 weeks. We used the pre arranged taxi from the airport and then used them on our way out, they were so good. We had never been to Amsterdam before, but the location seemed perfect with a few restaurants not a block away, everything else in walking distance. Lots of room for 2. The bed was comfortable. We loved watching boaters go by as well as the ducks living in the area (some we named). It was on the more expensive end but certainly worth it! Because it is a boat, the drain in the shower sometimes had a bit of an odor. We were allowed to check in early and when we accidentally dropped the keys in the canal (yes, we did), the hosts remedied it within 30 minutes!

Spacious, clean, convenient houseboat
My husband and I stayed for several nights between Christmas and New Year's. We wanted to visit the parks and museum in this part of the city, and it was very convenient to them. The neighborhood is mostly residential and as such was very quiet. Very few people, bikes, or cars went down our street even though other parts of the city were very busy at this time of year. The walls and windows of the houseboat are very thin, though. This was less a problem of climate control because the heating kept us warm but more a problem of noise. There were ducks on the water that would make small chirping sounds during the night and the occasional loud conversation on the street. Because everything else was so quiet and the walls were thin, we could hear these things as though they were in the room with us. The first night I had extra trouble sleeping because of the time difference, and the noises made it harder. The bed was very comfortable, though, and a couple of extra blankets were available. We use VRBO instead of hotels partly because we prefer to prepare our own meals because of food allergies, and the kitchen was great. We had everything we needed for simple and more complicated cooking. The equipment and also some oils and spices were all available and everything was in good working order. The living room was spacious and comfortable. The small patio outside the living room would have been really nice in warmer weather but we did not spend any time out there.

A great way to experience Amsterdam
Our stay was terrific. The houseboat is in a perfect location, close to shops and neighborhood restaurants. It's also within walking distance of museums and other attractions. The houseboat itself makes you feel like part of the canal community. It was clean, and had everything we needed. We'd absolutely stay here again. (Bonus: you get a front-row seat to the parakeets flying down the canal every evening at dusk.)

Perfect place to stay in Amsterdam!
We stayed 4 nights before boarding a Rotterdam cruise ship. This charming houseboat is in the perfect location, clean, spacious, well equipped and has a lovely deck where you can sit and enjoy the boats pass by. Very peaceful and close to the major sights. Many good restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Ubers were easily able to find us. Loved our stay, the hosts were also helpful in arranging taxi for us from the airport!

Lovely,spacious Houseboat and neighborhood
We enjoyed 2 weeks on the Lady Jane. The houseboat had everything that we needed to enjoy our stay. We loved that there was a short walk to two quaint Italian restaurants. We also enjoyed the ice cream shop that was close by. Most days we were out, but the one day I stayed on the boat, the small deck was just right to read my book and wave to the boats on the canal. The main street had many shops and restaurants, and it was only a 15-minute walk to Museumplein and Vondelpark.

Wonderful Property!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Lady Jane! We were fortunate enough to be able to check in early and take a nap after our long flight which was very much appreciated. It was very nice to have a “home base” that wasn’t a hotel room and one that was immersed in Dutch culture was even better. The Lady Jane’s location is excellent- close to parks, restaurants and museums. Next time we’re in Amsterdam, we will certainly check if the Lady Jane is available for our stay!

4 Great Days in Amsterdam!!!
I had been to Amsterdam many times for business, but my wife had never visited before. We loved our days taking in all the sites and places to visit, and we loved the place we stayed in! It was a little outside the busier areas of the city center area and felt a little like a residential neighborhood area, which we loved since we could be in the true city center area with a 5-10 minute walk. Our only frustration, and it was minimal, was the communication with the property manager a week before arrival and the day of arrival, but overall, we still give the place a 5-star rating. Thank you!!

We liked this location as our first trip to Amsterdam. The boat was clean and comfortable. My 18 yr old daughter and I slept fine in the bed together. I would have loved a bit heavier, or second blanket, for warmth and comfort.

Lovely Houseboat Great Location
This was my second time renting a houseboat in Amsterdam and this one was across the canal from the first one. The neighborhood is lovely, close to the Jordaan and easy walking distance to museum quarter and Leidseplein. It was a joy to sit on the deck and watch the canal traffic go by on a long spring evening. There were details that were not paid attention to - the dining area light was out and the clock in the kitchen did not work. There was no soap at the bathroom sink. And, as other people have said, the bedding was sparse. There was a duvet cover but no duvet. We used a mattress cover for warmth. But the houseboat was a very pleasant place to spend a week.

Perfect location, fun experience!
My husband and I had a lovely stay on the houseboat. It was a unique experience to get to stay on the canal while visiting Amsterdam for the first time. The location is perfect with everything you need a walk away. We also rented bikes, which was a kick and made getting around much quicker. The place was clean and well maintained. We would definitely recommend a stay here!

Great stay in a wonderful neighborhood
We enjoyed our stay on this comfortable houseboat in this quiet & conveniently located neighborhood! The property had everything we needed. It was missing a couple of amenities upon our arrival, but that was quickly remedied by the property manager. Communication with the property manager was fast & easy. She provided all the info we needed for a comforatble stay. Our only negative experience was that the deck was quite slippery as the algae on it hadn't been cleaned off & the rain made the algae very slick. We had to clean the deck ourselves to render it safe to walk on.

Oasis in the middle of town.
Our stay began with EARLY entry almost 7 hours early. We were able to get inside, hit the supermarket which was a quick walk from the place, take a nap before our preplanned dinner reservations. We blew the electric in the house by plugging in a US surge protector into a converter and into the wall. Management was over in a jiffy to fix it, then we blew the plumbing because it didn't reset with the electricity. The owner came over and fixed the plumbing went to his house and collected an adapter for the electricuty and we were all set, never had another issue the entire time we were there. All of our issues were resolved and a timely and efficient manner. The house boat is surprisingly comfortable, the spot next to the dining table was our perch the whole week. Watching the ducks, seagulls and swans come right up to the window as soon as you open the blinds is a lot of fun, we did end of feeding them on the last day. Sitting in the window and watching the water in the canal slowly go down stream is so tranquil. The kitchen and the bathroom is recently updated. There isn't a lot of air circulation so nothing dries in the bathroom, but the host left us loads of towels for the week, so it wasn't really a problem. The bed is hard and seems to be on 2 levels. The bedding was disappointing, not unclean, just minimal. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate recommending it.

Lovely houseboat in great location
My husband and I stayed in this lovely houseboat for 4 nights while visiting Amsterdam. Suzanne and Diana were wonderful hosts and so helpful with suggestions for the area and arranging a taxi to and from the airport for us. The houseboat is in an ideal location because it’s within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go, but on a quiet canal that was very peaceful. The kitchen was big enough for us to prepare small meals and the living and bedroom spaces were very nice. Our weather was not the greatest, but I could see the outdoor deck being very nice to use in the warmer weather. We loved sitting in our living room watching the boats go by. I was wondering about the water pressure for showers in a houseboat, but it was great and plenty of hot water. We would recommend this highly!
