Absolutely Lovely

My wife and ten-yead old twins stayed at the beautiful cabin nestled far away from nearly everything, except for a lovely creek, hammocks, a hot tub, cozy beds, and my kids' favorite, an old Super Nintendo. We spent time at Crater Lake which was a beautiful drive just under 2 hours away.

Excellent in every way

The very best destination for quiet, beauty, and comfort. Great hosts who really care about their guests. Gorgeous, fully functional "cabin" located in a remote natural paradise. This is our favorite vacation spot for refreshing our spirits and healing our minds while swimming in and playing beside the beautiful South Umpqua.

Beautiful setting!

The cabin itself was awesome and had everything we needed plus fun extras for entertainment. But the landscape took the cake! The river, the mountains, the wildflowers... we only wish we could've stayed longer!

Amazing quiet getaway

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for - escaping the city noise for some peace and relaxation. The hot tub overlooking the river is where it's at!! The check in process was easy with very clear and accurate directions and the cabin was very clean upon arrival. We were happy we picked up all our supplies in Medford, as you really are quite far away from civilization with grocery stores and restaurants.

Our Honeymoon

We just loved the cabin and the beautiful land it’s on. Listening to the water as it flowed by the stream by the cabin. The peacefulness of all the surrounding trees. We will have great memories of our time there and plan to be back to stay again. Mr. and Mrs. Hill

wonderful!

Riverfront Farwood Cabin is magical. The location is perfect, the grounds are very well kept and the home is immaculate. As we are finishing our stay, two deer are grazing in the front yard. We contacted our hosts with one question during our sat and they responded immediately. We'll be back!

Beautiful creek cabin

Very clean and comfy place. Only issues are NO a/c in home and water solely comes from the creek. It was very warm a few days we were there and couldn’t find the portable A/C they stated in email they had. It did cool way down at night and listening to the creek is soothing. It just a like they say far from any store or restaurant so make sure you have enough food and water with you. We enjoyed the quiet and peace of this place. We had a big issue the first full day there and it was addressed and fixed in a few hours.

Creekside utopia

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this creekside utopia. The log cabin is lovely - rustic, clean, and inviting. The large generous front porch offers a place to contemplate the evening hours after playing games on the lawn. Outside the gate is a beautiful creek to explore or enjoy in lawnchairs or hammocks. Mornings in the hot-tup were a highlight. We could not be more happy (unless we were still there). The location is a bit remote - perfect.

Excellent place to get away

Jackson Creek was the highlight for my kids and me. We spent hours each day exploring and playing in it. The water depth varies between 1 and 3 feet on average. I highly recommend bringing water shoes for traction. The big open yard was also great for games of football, baseball, frisbee, and croquet. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked, and we enjoyed the library of movies and board games.

Pure magic

It’s hard to sum up in words how magical this place is. I went for peace, quiet, to connect with my family, and to recover from a period of intense stress and upheaval. I got all of those at the cabin and more. And I never wanted to leave. It was clean, surprisingly modern and comfy for a cabin, had everything we needed, and the hosts were wonderful to talk to when I had some questions. The hot tub was perfection and nothing could have prepared me for the magic of sitting in the hammock by the creek. We can’t wait to go back!

Perfect cabin

Everything about the cabin was amazing and there is a river, literally running through the property they have everything you can possibly need to cook an excellent meal, plenty of linen and sheets. Super clean. would definitely come back. There is really NO reception and the closest town is about 30 minutes away. That is also where you would find the closest gas station, so make sure that you have everything you need before you get out there.

Best creature comforts in a very private location

Like the other reviewers have said, this cabin is very remote and very private. It is important to have printed out turn by turn directions because your GPS will stop working along the way. It's also helpful to actually look at the google maps street views to see what the nearby landmarks are. That being said, once you get here, this place is just awesome for anyone wanting to relax away from everything. Having the windows open and listening to the creek, especially at night, is almost magical. The beds are amazingly comfortable, I kind of wished I had looked at the brand of mattress to get one next time I am in the market. The sheets and blankets were also exceptionally comfortable also. Best sleep I have had in a long time! The hot tub was very clean, don't pass up your chance to enjoy it. We cooked hamburgers and corn on the grill and had a really nice dinner. My husband and kids also enjoyed the old school super nintendo which was kind of a treat to see them play. The wifi was great and having a working lan line was good for peace of mind. The kids actually asked to stay longer with is very unusual for them, they are almost always "over it" an unimpressed. Would stay at again, highly recommended!

Unique log cabin in the woods

This log cabin was even better than we expected! It was myself, my husband and two children (ages 2 and 4) who stayed but there was plenty of room for more. I don't know what I loved more, the inside or outside. We had no neighbors, the cabin was right on the river and we were surrounded by trees. It truly is a log cabin in the woods. The hot tub is on the side patio only 20 feet from the river so the view and river sounds were very relaxing. It's also near the play structure next to the house so the kids played on that while we relaxed in the hot tub. The covered front porch is nice and big for the kids to play under cover while we relaxed in the chairs (enjoying the view). The interior of the cabin was very adorable and the kids loved exploring inside. There's a baby gate the owners put at the top of the stairs and they had an extra gate in the closet. The stone fireplace area turned out to be wonderful too. We just put pillows/blankets around the edges so the kids wouldn't hurt themselves and they turned it into a stage. We all had a blast and hope to return again.

We love the outdoors. Grew up camping on the South Umpqua and fell in love with the area. Having a cabin on a river in the woods was always a dream and now we can share this dream hosting our home with others. Hiking, trail running, swimming, floating the river, and spending time with family are our favorite things to do.

Why they chose this property

This beautiful picturesque cabin overlooks a beautiful river. Recharge from your hectic life in the serenity of this cabin surrounded by forest, wildlife, and rivers. Read a book in a hammock overlooking the river, enjoy a peaceful soak in the hot tub while listening to the running river, or enjoy a cup of coffee while gazing out at nature and listening to the surrounding wildlife. Frequently visited by deer, geese, a great blue heron and much more.

Things to keep in mind:

There is no cell service at the cabin. Phones can be connected via wifi (albeit slower than you may be accustomed to) and there is a landline for use. The cabin is near a little market filled with primarily snacks and camping necessities, but you probably want to get your groceries in a larger town prior to driving to the cabin. Canyonville is the closest town with a grocery store.

This cabin is also located in bear and cougar country. Please be alert. We also have poison oak on the property. We’ve cleared a lot, but if you do run into any, there is Tecnu wash in the cabin.

The creek supplies all the water in the cabin. Water goes through multiple filtration systems and has been tested safe, but you are welcome to bring your own drinking water if you desire. The water pressure is also lower than most are accustomed to. Sometimes it can be challenging to have multiple sources of water running simultaneously.

Fire season runs throughout the summer months. During this time, it can be hazy.
