Lovely location

The house is in a lovely location and provided the space we were looking for. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, however a few points of note which seem to have been commented on previously. The garden is neglected and has been for some time, with an old shower screen and detritus under the back cover so if you wanted to store a bike you would be unable to. The kitchen is a lovely space but let down by lack of roasting and serving pans and only one frying pan. We were also left only one dishwasher tablet and no dog bowls. The upstairs shower still has extensive black mould on the silicon which is a shame. The sunroom is a delightful space but is challenging with a cream carpet, maintaining that when you have to go out to the bins on a slippery green patio. It is a beautiful property but let down by the recent lack of attention to detail. These comments weren't raised at the time as we were only away for a few days and as they have been noted on previous reviews, it is unlikely anyone is going to pop round and resilicon the shower! So just disappointing for what is meant to be more of a premium property.

4/10 Poor

Tired and not clean

The property was tired and not very clean. Towels from the previous guests were left hanging on the back of the bedroom door. Carpets still had dog hair on them. The sofas are uncomfortable. The bins outside had not been emptied for some time and there was dog poo in the recycling bin. The kitchen was lacking in equipment.

Lovely property

Great property in a lovely village very well located to explore the Cotswolds. We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our grandchildren’s third and ninth birthday the cottage had lots of space and was very well equipped

Lovely stay

The cottage is in a lovely spot in the middle of Winchcombe and very comfortable. It is a little tired in some furnishings downstairs and it would have been nice to have the little extras like candles(which were mentioned in there in house blurb). The garden definitely needs some fairly major attention but as it was winter not a big issue. Overall a nice stay

Great family get together cottage

Gorgeous property for a weekend with our family . Great location for walks and lovely pub right on the doorstep! Property just as described . Sadly no baking trays at all so we had to go and buys some and also the food processor didn’t work . Would’ve been nice to have some little goodies provided as a welcome

Great location, could do with some TLC

Amazing location, very cosy, within seconds to the pubs and shops of the town. Parking available 2 minutes walk away for a pound a day. Mattresses were very soft and bouncy. Obviously you have the street noise being right on the road so just be aware in case you are after peace and quiet. Garden out the back had not been looked after, grass and bushes overgrown, and not been cut for weeks, couldn’t really take the dog out there to use it. Grouting in the shower is black and tired. Overall a great location but could do with some attention to be amazing.

Great location for Winchcombe

The cottage is roomy and has all the essentials. I liked that two separate sitting areas were available. The location is great with local shops, pubs and restaurants all just a few steps away, as well as being well placed for exploring the Cotswolds. The downsides to the cottage are that the furnishings are very tired, eg, the sofas are stained, concealed with throws, grubby carpet stains. The baby high chair was very grubby, so much we didn’t use it. There’s a great sitting area outside but unusable as the garden is so overgrown. The cottage could easily have been great but I felt the owner needs to review the presentation.

A delightful property in the heart of Winchcombe

This property is delightful, with Cotswold charm and beautiful presentation, we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The location and amenities were great and parking was easy to find just around the corner. Given that the house was beautifully presented and homely, it was a shame that the garden was overgrown. But the weather was cold, so we spent the time at the house indoors by the gorgeous fire and it didn't affect the weekend. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Beautiful house . Beds is very comfortable. Pity there no parking outside the house . You can park in the long term car park. Would be great if the kitchen have enough utensils to make a proper meal for 8 adults. The kitchen store cupboard could do with some extra kitchen towels . At the weekend the road outside the house can be noisy due to a pub closed by.

Cotswold trip with friends

Overall the stay in the cottage was nice. Great location and reasonably roomy cottage for 4 adults and 3 children. But a lovely old warm house. Decent WiFi which is always welcome. My only criticisms with the cottage was the level of cleanliness in the shower room and kitchen. The shower cubicle generally needed a deep clean. The kitchen could also have been cleaner- the oven was full of crumbs and the extraction fan greasy. The kitchen was also not very well equipped. For example- Only one very old cast iron frying pan, difficult to clean and had to be scrubbed before use. Some additional wine glasses and pint glasses would be good- only 4 wine glasses, if you had more than 4 adults they’d be drinking out of tumblers.

Great stay at the Fluer de Lys

We enjoyed our stay at the Fluer de Lys - great location in the heart of Winchcombe. We were nervous about the house not having allocated parking, but there is lots of street parking in the area. House was tidy and good size for our family of five.

Great location

A lovely property in a great location. Winchcombe is a pretty town with good walks and amenities, and less touristy than other villages. However, the main bedroom had a strong unpleasant odour which did not go after airing the room.

October half term visit

As a party of eight, including two children and two dogs, the accommodation provided by the cottage was excellent and the location was perfect. Our only criticism would be that the kitchen, although well laid out, lacked basic equipment and so cooking was a bit of a challenge!

Very enjoyable break

Very nice house, perfectly situated for local facilities. Our dogs enjoyed it too, though the steps to the back lawn were a little steep for our older Labrador.

Family home in a nice village

Pleasant and cosy family house with a nice garden/lounge room and small garden. In the center of Winchcombe, nice shops, pubs, beautiful castle and lovely walks on your doorstep.
