Located in the quaint seaside town of Whitby, Wadsworth Cottage is a recently refurbished, self-catering holiday home with plenty of style. Sleeping up to five guests, this three-bedroom house will provide the perfect base to explore Whitby and the rest of North Yorkshire. If you’re looking for a getaway with friends or a family staycation, look no further than Wadsworth Cottage.
The Space:
Wadsworth Cottage has an open plan living, kitchen and dining room, three cosy bedrooms and a family bathroom.
With sloped ceilings and light-coloured walls, the open plan living, kitchen and dining room is bright and airy. The space includes a comfy sofa, matching armchair and flat screen Smart TV with streaming apps so you can relax during your stay.
When it comes to dining, there is a modern, granite breakfast bar style dining table with grey dining chairs. Perfectly positioned, you’ll be able to enjoy great views of the River Esk, Whitby Harbour, and the swing bridge.
Fully equipped for self-catering stays, you’ll have everything you need for your break. You can cook up a storm using the oven, hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. The space is complete with a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.
Head down the steps and you’ll find two bedrooms and the family bathroom.
With light wooden flooring and marble effect wall tiles, the bathroom is modern and sophisticated. There is a walk-in shower, WC and a vanity unit basin.
You’ll also find two homely bedrooms on the first floor - one single and a super-king which can be split into two singles upon request. A small double room can also be found on the ground floor, along with an ensuite shower room. Each bed is comfortable and boasts premium bedding, so you’ll wake up feeling well rested at Wadsworth Cottage.
All bedrooms also boast wall-mounted TVs, hanging space, reading lights and USB sockets.
There is a calming neutral colour scheme throughout the property pops of blue added in the soft furnishings.
Outside, accessible from the first floor, is a covered back yard with a two-seater bench and table, the perfect spot to rest after enjoying the bustling streets of Whitby.

Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Wadsworth Cottage are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to your stay.
Free on-street parking is available nearby on a first come, first served basis.
The Neighborhood:
Wadsworth Cottage is located near all of Whitby’s attractions, and you’ll find restaurants, shops and pubs a short walk away.
The apartment is located on the East bank of Whitby. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Venture over the swing bridge and you’ll reach the West side of town. You’ll be able to revel in the nostalgic seaside charm - head to the arcades or explore the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
You’ll find restaurants, pubs and shops just in a short walk from Wadsworth Cottage.
Whitby train station is nearby so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
