About this property
Queenie's Cottage, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk
Located within easy walking distance of the heart of the historical maritime town of Wells-next-the-Sea, Queenie's Cottage is an attractive period property that has been renovated to high standard to offer stylish modern comforts. On a quiet street close to the town's magnificent St Nicholas Church, this hideaway is ideally located for exploring the independent shops, fantastic eateries, picturesque harbour and stunning iconic beach.
Named after the regal stone plaque depicting Queen Victoria, Queenie's cottage was beautifully updated in 2023. Deceptively spacious, and thoughtfully furnished in a relaxed contemporary style, coastal curiosities and humorous artworks by well known local artist Brian Lewis decorate the rooms. Upon entering the cottage through the front door, a charming dining area with feature open staircase to the first floor, leads to all rooms. Two large, sumptuous sofas adorn the dual aspect sitting room, making it a cosy place to nestle into as warmth of the wood burning stove fills the room. The smart newly fitted galley kitchen boasts views over the cottage garden. As is traditional for Norfolk properties of this age, the family bathroom is located on this floor, and features a bath with shower over. Climb the bespoke staircase to the first floor where two bright, generous-sized comfortable bedrooms are located. Hosting an inviting king-size bed, the master bedroom features original wooden beams. Twin beds are offered by bedroom two, which boasts handy en suite facilities.
Outside the cottage, a large paved patio area with outdoor seating extends out into the lawned area beyond. An idyllic spot to gather to share conversation, and perhaps a glass of wine, long into the summer evenings. Parking is available on the road outside the cottage.
Additional Information:
Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
Pillow and duvets are synthetic fibre.
Travel cot and high chair available (please request at point of booking).
