Nearby Burton upon Trent is a town straddling the River Trent, made famous by its breweries, and home of many award-winning ales. Alabaster carving, cloth working and manning the cotton mills are all central to the town’s history. The small market town of Market Bosworth is just a short drive away, home to the Battle of Bosworth, with an excellent visitor centre at the battlefield site.
