A beautiful lodge in a stunning Location
My girlfriends and I took pot luck booking this 8 berth Lodge and were amazed when arriving how beautiful it actually was even though the pictures still did it justice.
We arrived early and contacted reception to see if able to access the property sooner and the staff were exceptional.
We were advised that due to the high tech of the lodge (eco friendly) that it took 4 hours to heat to the correct temperature, but once at correct heat was easy to manage.
unfortunately for our party the Lodge had some technical issues with the heating and it was exceptionally cold for the first evening and one of the bedrooms was very uncomfortably cold.
The staff on site though tried to do everything they could to assist as quickly as possible and offered heaters and offered compensation or alternative solution if not fixed.
They were attentive, polite, professional and we arrived to some lovely gifts of food and drink was extra special.
The property was in clean tidy, modern and all round beautiful, the views were incredible, the lakes, walks were wonderful.
There were several Lodges all the same but with enough distance to not be bothered by neighbors, noise or interruption.
The view from the Hot Tub was wonderful, very quiet, with fantastic views (my only niggle was that you could see it from the road and two other lodges so a suggested fence along the edge of the decking would be so much more private, as it was a little disconcerting with people staring whilst in the tub).
Kitchen fully fitted and a range or cutlery ect, more than adequate.
The rooms and facilities were great although due to the high tech of the lodges it was difficult to manage the heating especially in the bathrooms as the only heat was the radiator and you had to use these for your towels, there were no hooks in the bathrooms for towels or clothes whilst in the shower/bath which seemed odd!
Some plugs were situated behind cupboards that needed to be moved and it was solid furniture to move, difficult.
We needed to use these plugs due to mirror location, that were beautiful but not practical, due to the effects on the mirror, so you had to use one small corner to see in it.
So my only concerns and niggles were above
Hooks
Plugs location
Heating adjustment especially in the bathroom, having to boost all the time and remembering to do this
Fence for privacy whilst in the Hot Tub
BUT it was an amazing, stunning, beautiful Lodge and already planning to go back.
Looking forward to see the other 92 Lodges being built right next to a Cycle path that will eventually link to the The most famous and popular cycle path in Devon and Cornwall is the Tarka Trail, a 32-mile, traffic-free route inspired by the novel "Tarka the Otter", offering stunning scenery and a family-friendly cycling experience.
