About this property

Character old cottage in gorgeous Snowdonia location

Cottage set in the Mawddach Valley nature reserve near the Mawddach Estuary, in the Snowdonia National Park. Beautiful mountain views and lovely country walks; 3 minutes walk from the scenic Cambrian Coastal railway at Morfa Mawddach and backing on to the stunning Mawddach Trail. Activities include mountain biking, golf, sailing, surfing (SurfSnowdonia), quad biking, clay shooting, horses and beaches and the sea. Mountain bikes, golf clubs, wet suits and body boards are provided for guests.
The space
Situated between mountains, rivers and coastal waters the elements mingle to provide clean, crisp fresh air and coastal breeze. In this 'away from the madding crowd' 2 bedroom cottage you have access to the entire place.

You have a well equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower and a large living room with 2 sofas, a television and dining table. Provision for up to 7 guests is available - bedroom 1 has a double bed and bedroom 2 has a bunk bed with a double at the bottom and single on top; a double sofa bed in the living room can easily be folded away. Two electric fireplaces in the living room provide extra warmth and be warned there is a character slope in the living room floor!

There is a private outdoor garden area.
Guest access
Entire House and all facilities.
Other things to note
Please note this is a Victorian cottage with some quirky features. It has antique furniture and is very much 19th century. If you don’t like old, it’s not for you.

Please feel free to ask any questions including nearby attractions and amenities. Pets allowed however we ask that they are kept out of the living room and sleeping areas.

Guest review…..

Fantastic location right next to estuary trail. Bikes were provided which were great fun. Short walk to Barmouth over the bridge. Accommodation was very comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Lots of excellent hikes straight from the door so no need to drive. Cadair Idris a short drive away if need something challenging. DVD collection is huge and board games etc available. Plenty of hot water and heating so no chance of getting cold in the winter. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and sure that you would too.

LOVED IT!
The property is indeed quirky but just as described in the listing, and suited us down to the ground as it was something different! Had everything we needed (with the exception of a freezer compartment in the fridge but minor point), and was clean and warm. Huge TV and good wifi. One of the best things for us was the availability of bikes, and we spent 2 of our our 4 days there riding in the beautiful local area. Also had body boards but we didn't have time to use them (and golf clubs etc). Would benefit from automated checking in details prior to the trip as communication with the owner was occasionally a little tricky. Would definitely stay again!

A memorable stay in a beautiful cottage
My wife and I and our seven year old son had an excellent stay in this characteristic and extremely comfortable cottage. An ideal location close to Barmouth and within walking distance of the local train station. Special thanks to Neil, the owner of this stunning cottage. We enjoyed our stay that much that we have already booked to stay again next year! Craig, Sophia and Harry
