We loved this property. It was an amazing place to be for a week. The host was very responsive and very friendly. The views were spectacular. The house had very comfortable seating with views from all the windows. When we return to Southwest Harbor we will try to rent this property!
Such a wonderful, peaceful, comfortable & quiet place. We walked the rocky beach often and loved it. Couldn’t ask for a nicer place to be! Thank you for sharing your cottage with us. Allen & Joanne.
Loved our stay here, the cabin was perfect for the two of us! Had everything we needed for the stay and check in was easy. We drove back and forth to Acadia daily and the drive was easy, would definitely come back!
Just note, if you are staying for a longer time, there is no grill on the property!
We stayed for a week and absolutely loved the cabin! Beautiful ocean view, sunrise/sunsets, cute local town with great food and coffee shops. If you are looking for a quiet place within 30 min of all Acadia has to offer, then this is your place. We would definitely stay again!
Becky was a fantastic host and her cabin and property are gorgeous. We loved the cabin, the waterfront sea wall, and the entire area. We plan on returning.
Kings Point cottage is a cozy and comfortable cabin nestled in the woods just off the shore with lovely ocean views, and convenient access to the whole island. It is perfect for a weeklong stay on MDI for a couple, so much so that we've stayed there twice and would love to again in the future.
What a lovely cabin with an outstanding location to easily access all parts of MDI, not to mention a wonderful view of Southwest Harbor. The spotless cabin has everything a couple needs for a week stay. Becky is wonderful in her communication and a pleasure if you have the chance to meet her, and her family. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We can't say enough wonderful things about this gem of a place in SWH. The little cottage was absolutely perfect for two. Gorgeous views of the ocean and mountains. A perfect place for morning coffee and unwinding after a busy day. Wonderfully appointed, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed daily visits from a loon, seals, and a pair of porpoises!! As hikers, kayakers, and cyclists, this cottage was a dream. We'll be back. Thank you Becky and Cindy!
Beautiful cabin in an idyllic setting was the perfect getaway. Very close to everything MDI has to offer but secluded and peaceful. We found it very hard to leave the property to hike and bike and couldn't wait to get back to the cabin in the evening. Lots of wildlife in the harbor including seals, porpoises and eagles. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing as were the sounds of the ocean waves in the night. Definitely hope to come back for another visit!
Exactly as the photos showed. What an absolutely lovely retreat! There were several places to stay in the area but we didn't see any that could compare. The privacy and the quiet area were wonderful. A beach overlooking the harbor was so enjoyable. We watched seals and even saw deer walking up the beach. We could not have been hosted by a nicer woman and her family. Now we are trying to figure out a date for next year!

Charming cabin for two with great views and privacy
King's Point Cabin is perfectly sized and outfitted for two people and workable for up to 4. The wooded setting is private and peaceful, and the ocean views and access to the shoreline exactly what we were looking for. In 25 years of visiting MDI, it's my favorite among the places we've stayed. If I had to identify one minor drawback, it would be the lack of a washer and dryer. It wasn't a problem for our weeklong stay but could be an issue for a longer visit.
We travel to Southwest Harbor each year to enjoy the area and visit with family. Everything about this property was prefect and exactly as described and pictured. Watching the boat traffic come and go - both the lobstermen and the pleasure craft - was such fun. And - the daily sunrises were as spectacular as those we've seen atop Cadillac Mountain and we didn't have to drive or make a reservation. I hate to mention it because this property is just so special, but the only downside of this property is that there is no grill. All in all, I would highly recommend Kings Point Cabin!

Great property in a great location
The cottage is excellent - like being in a family's personal cottage. Well appointed kitchen. The upstairs bedroom has a great sitting area with water views. It is a five minute drive to Southwest Harbor with its shops and restaurants - but nothing like the bustle of Bar Harbor! The cottage is located on the entrance of Southwest Harbor with lots of boating activity to keep you entertained - windjammers, lobster boats and sailboats all coming by. All of the park activities from hiking to sea kayaking and sailing are only a few minutes away. This is a great escape place!
This is the perfect cottage for two adults who want to get away from it all and have terrific water views. This cottage is in a secluded beautiful spot but within an easy drive to the bustle of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park--the best of both worlds. Becky (host) was kind and very responsive and sure knows how to create a space to put people at ease. The cabin was everything I could hope for in a "home away from home"--light filled, cozy, clean, peaceful--and even included a firefly show on two of the nights in the garden out front! Highly recommend.
Spectacular location with a postcard picture view!
This idyllic cabin is the place to choose if you are looking for a low key, relaxing and no frills place to stay in MDI. It literally is ocean front, and the rocky beach is just exquisite. Close to all things ANP, with hiking trails a stone's throw away. Get prepared to see amazing sunrises, sunsets, and even eagles and porpoises.
Hosts have a place on property and communicated when needed, but you have full privacy here!
Found live fresh lobster down a few hidden roads
( Hillcrest Circle) and home-made blueberry cake on same circle. *Bring a lobster or a large pot*
The kitchen could use a few upgraded small appliances, but honestly it really didn't matter. The location is splendid!

We have stayed in Southwest Harbor twice before and been very happy with cottages within walking distance of the main street but little or no view of the harbor. Finding Kings Point Cottage in Manset has now changed our priorities.
It's all about the view and peace and quiet of being in a lovely place, altho it takes a little getting used to the lobster boats in the early morning.. We were able to walk to a couple of restaurants and the Cranberry Cove Ferry and the main part of SWH is only a couple of miles away There is also an Island Explorer bus that stops at the ferry landing in Manset.
If you share our priorities, this is the place. If you need TV, dishwasher, laundry this may not be for you. The cottage itself is very comfortable and spacious for two. My favorite place to sit inside was upstairs in the dormer but the deck and chairs at the water were where we spent most of our sitting time. Hiking Trails on the "quietside" are only a short drive. We look forward to being able to return to this perfect cottage in Maine!
Wonderful private cottage on Somes Sound surrounded by woods and located on the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island. Close to Southwest Harbor, Echo Lake, mini golf, an organic farm, plenty of hiking, good coffee shops, and restaurants. Only a 30-minute drive to more hiking on the other side of the island. The cabin was roomy for the two of us, nice to have the extra half bath. The kitchen was well-equipped and the furnishings were comfortable, including the bed. We enjoyed reading and taking in the views of the sound and mountains from the sitting area at the rocky beach. We even saw a bald eagle sitting on top of one of the trees and then swooping down to catch a fish. Will definitely return!
As with previous visits, we had a wonderful week! This was our 4th stay in the last 5 years at the property. Every year it's like coming home. Everything was awesome.
Exactly what you need if you are a couple looking to get away. Great location to all the popular attractions. Very clean and comfortable. Hope to come back soon. Highly recommend.
Amazing views and just an overall great experience for a nice getaway. Close to trails and only a short distance to the main Acadia viewpoints. Full kitchen with plenty of markets nearby to enjoy a home cooked meal certain nights. Highly recommend.
Thoughtfully decorated to evoke a traditional Maine cottage, even the smell of the wood. Comfortable. Beautiful view and grounds, well maintained. Wildlife nearby - we passed a group of four or five deer almost every time we went in or out. Appropriate for two, but not more. We hope to get back there in coming years.
I appreciated all the little touches like the collection of rocks, comfortable bed and even the sheets were so soft! The wood cabin is light wood throughout, so it does not seem too dark even on rainy days!
