About this property

Just three minutes from Hwy 64, elevated over a slab of granite at 3,200 feet, this updated, 4,000sf, 5 bedroom, 4 bath custom-designed house feels right. Sights and sounds of action on Sapphire National Golf Course's 3rd hole fairway and green are partially obscured by canopy foliage. The house has an open floor plan with a master suite and guest suite on the main level. Two large dining tables provide plenty of seating. The upper deck hosts a gas grill and an additional dining table. The lower level consists of a large den with ping pong, arcade game, air hockey and separate seating centered around a TV and fireplace. The Mrs Pac-Man has more than 60 other vintage arcade games. Combine that with fiberoptic high-speed internet, and rainy days are a breeze! Three large bedrooms and two full bathrooms round out the downstairs.

Plenty of parking spaces. A basketball goal is fixed into the boulder wall near the mouth of a trail that leads down to a rustic fire pit. Down at the forest floor a pedestrian bridge crosses a bubbling brook to gain access to Sapphire National Golf Course. From there you can walk to Fairfield Lake on the cart path!

Family getaway

This was a great property for a multi-family vacation to beautiful Western North Carolina. We enjoyed the amenities, especially the lake, and had plenty of room to spread out in the house. Close proximity to many hikes and swimming holes. Great house and location!

Family getaway

The house was huge; much larger than pictures portray. We enjoyed preparing meals together in the well stocked kitchen. Plenty of dishes and silverware for our large group. Lots of large pans and skillets. Beds were comfortable and house very clean. Check in was a breeze. The kids had a blast playing ping pong and air hockey while the adults enjoyed talking and planning our activities for the day. Will definitely return. And make sure to eat at Mica’s. Food and service was exceptional

Great house for a family trip

We had a great trip to Sapphire! The house had plenty of rooms, and the game room was a hit with the kids. The owners were highly responsive when a storm knocked out the DirecTV for a small while, and promptly got it back up. Being tucked in the back of a cul de sac makes this private house a nice retreat to enjoy some relaxation and is well appointed to help accomplish such a thing!

Great place for family gathering

The house was large and it very comfortably accommodated the 10 of us with 4 kids (aged 10 to 13) for a week. All the rooms were very nice and plenty of tables to put our stuff. It provided great seating for 10 (the picnic table was the hit) and the bathrooms were great. The kids give it 5 stars too. They loved the large den which they ‘closed’ off as their ‘private’ club room. They browsed through the large collection of books in the room and found one that they set up as required reading for a chosen 2 adults! The bunk room was a hit too. The fire pit was their escape place. The infrared stove was a problem. It was very slow to heat and was really inconvenient. The dishwasher leaked. It should have been communicated before arrival that only limited amounts of consumable supplies such as big garbage bags, dishwashing soap, toilet paper, paper towels etc. would be provided.

Amazing Place - Perfect for Large Groups!

This is one of our favorite, most comfortable places we have stayed at in the 8 years we have been renting houses in the Blue Ridge Mountains for Thanksgiving! The kitchen is amazingly stocked, love all the large pots! The rooms are huge, beds are comfy and the area is beautiful! Having all the table space was amazing to build puzzles, play games and eat as well! We would definitely recommend this place and are even thinking of coming back again next year! Ryan was fantastic to work with as well. Thank you!

Fabulous month in Sapphire.

Plenty of room in this spacious house and the kids were extremely happy with the downstairs playroom with the ping pong table, air hockey and the famous Mrs Pac-Man! The kitchen was very well equipped and the owners (Ryan and Christy) were very responsive to any questions we had.

Family celebration

This property was a great place for my family of 4 grown children with their spouses and children to get together. Some of us flew into Atlanta from Louisiana then drove to the property while another drove in from the northern part of the state and another drove from Atlanta! It made it a central location for all of us! There was plenty to do and fun for all ages! Not to mention that the weather was nice and cool! The house met all of our needs!!! We hope to visit again sometime

Western NC home

This was an excellent house for our annual multi-generational family trip. We had ages 2 to 73. Bedrooms are large with plenty of space for everyone. The owner/manager was excellent in his response to any questions/requests we had. The access to a local pool, putt-putt course, and private lake was wonderful. Several of our group enjoyed hikes to multiple waterfalls. We explored Cashiers and Highlands while we were there, also. Great week for our family!

We broke all the covid rules and gathered for Thanksgiving.

It was perfect for our group. Plenty of room to spread out which was needed with 6 adults and 6 children. Downstairs game room was a hit. Lots of outdoor opportunities for kids to get out and play. And the kitchen was spacious and accommodated all the Thanksgiving cooks!

Best Week

My family had the most wonderful week in Sapphire!! The location of the house is perfect, and the ability to use the Sapphire amenities gave us access to plenty of activities! Fairfield lake being a personal favorite! The open floor plan let our group be near without feeling cramped! The McKibbens were wonderful hosts and easy to communicate with!

WONDERFUL FAMILY TIME AT SAPPHIRE

Our extended family of adults and children of all ages had a wonderful stay at this lovely home at Sapphire Valley. The layout was perfect for multiple families with the bedrooms on 2 levels. The property was extremely kid friendly with a kiddie table and all sorts of books and games. The location was in easy proximity to all of our hikes as well as all the amenities that Sapphire offers. The owner was extrememly helpful with any questions that we had. We would definitely recommend this property to families looking to vacation in Sapphire.
