Nice Spot
We spent most of our visit out of the house however, it was comforting to be able to return to a clean house. The property manager was very accommodating when we had a small issue. He had it handled promptly and it did not interfere with our stay. The neighbors were great as well and we felt safe returning all hours of the night. We would rent this home again.

The property was modest but clean and host was very responsive. The listing states 5 minutes to sea but it is a bit farther by car and within about 34 minutes walking distance. The first morning we arrived there was early morning yard work and loud music making it very noisy. There is also a constant barking dog and crowing roosters at all hours. The AC unit in one of the bedrooms was not working properly so it was leaking, making crackling sounds and also spitting out ice. There seemed to have been an issue with the toilet in the master bedroom and the washing machine was leaking. It worked for us short term but wouldn't long-term and won't work for anyone looking for something more upscale.

A perfect time
We stayed 2 weeks at Nadis's house and enjoyed every day. You will need a car to get to beaches and to explore Barbados. There is a small supermarket that is also open on weekends nearby. The house is well equipped and we didn't miss anything. To have a washing machine was very comfortable. The neighbors are really nice und you feel welcome. Wih the dogs around you do not need a alarm clock ;) so you have more time on the beach.

Fabulous!
We had a month at Nadia's lovely family home. We are not typical tourists - we spend quite a lot of time in the property as opposed to being out all of the time.Kirkland Gardens sits up above Oistins in a quiet neighborhood and enjoys the cooling sea breeze. We hired a car but there's good access to buses nearby. The car port is great for keeping the car cool so you don't roast every time you go out.Kitchen is well equipped with plenty of utensils and a full set of pots, frying pans etc.AC in the main bedroom - which also has an en suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows.Large wardrobes with lots of hangers provided in each of the bedrooms.AC also in the living room plus a ceiling fan. Both of the AC units can switch to fan only without the cooling - this was important to us as we prefer to try to be a bit more eco friendly. There are also several floor standing fans.Decor is simple but stylish with two comfortable sofas and a large dining room table and chairs which also has a ceiling fan above.Plenty of hanging space outside for laundry.Nadia was extremely helpful and accommodating during the booking process and, on site, Geoff oversees things and lives close by. Geoff and his family were friendly, courteous and, most importantly, very responsive to any questions we had. All in all we had a really enjoyable stay and we would definitely recommend and stay again.

The property owner was nice and communication was fair. As for the property, the air conditioning in the primary bedroom wasn’t working properly and no Internet for the whole entire stay. Property owner made attempts to fix the problems, however the issues remained unresolved. Also nothing was given in return for the inconvenience that we experienced. The area wasn’t so bad. Really close to Ostin’s. The neighbors dogs barked constantly.

Live like a Bajan, in Barbados.
A three bedroom, typical Barbados residential home. Spacious , numerous appliances fitted large kitchen. two bathrooms with all necessities. Spacious lounge, with smart tv, giving lots of tv options. Free wi-fi, with fast internet connection. large dining area. Laundry room with 17k washing machine, and rear drying area. As a holiday home, it is more than adequate, but showing the age of the interior fittings. a small wrap around garden, gives option of sitting outside. You really need a car, or taxi to get to the main activities, or thirty-five minute, mostly pleasant walk ( Barbados is hot all year, and uphill going to the house.). Not recommended for beach and nightlife individuals, but more suitable for families with a car, or 6 sight seeing individuals. A small basic supermarket is less than five minutes walk away. Barbados supermarket shopping is approximately double the price, compared to the UK. The local frequent buses, are ridiculously cheap at £1.50 per person, per trip.

Outgoing professional working in marketing in London. I love to travel and explore and enjoy life with my friends and family.

Why they chose this property

I look after my grandparents home in Barbados. I grew up there and enjoyed summers holidaying in Barbados, so I hope you enjoy the home I spent some great years in.

What makes this property unique

Located in a family friend suburb in Barbados but still close to all the beauty and bustle that Barbados has to offer.
Boasts a notorious natural sea breeze which keeps the home cool and refreshing in the tropical heat.
