About this property

5 bed British period home in the heart of historic Cambridge

Welcome to our quintessential British period home in the heart of the historic city of Cambridge - if you want a slice of classic England, then you’re in the right place.

The house has a wonderful mix of period features - from stained glass windows in our front door, to high ceilings throughout, roll top free standing bath, and original fireplaces in most rooms, but also benefits from all of the conveniences of the 21st century - super fast wifi, range cooker, central heating, dishwasher and washing machine.

The large kitchen diner has an extendable dining table to seat all of your group of 10 for leisurely breakfasts or three course dinners. The range cooker has 7 gas rings, and two ovens with a separate grill. And you won’t be short on equipment if you want to cook up a storm, we’ve fully stocked it with equipment for all levels of culinary skill. With views into the enclosed mature garden, you’ll struggle to leave your morning coffee to enjoy the sights of Cambridge! Boasting a breakfast bar, the kitchen is a social space for pre-drinks before heading out to enjoy the Cambridge nightlife.

In the lounge, you can sit back and enjoy movies on our 65 inch smart TV that has Netflix included. You’re welcome to log into your own account for other streaming services.

In the sitting room, there’s a piano just waiting for the nimble fingered among you, along with books and games for all of the family to enjoy. If you need to do some work while you’re staying with us, there’s a dedicated work station too.

Each spacious bedroom has been individually designed with art work, books and chairs to ensure that you have space to spread out and relax. The downstairs bedroom enjoys views into the private garden and is conveniently located across the corridor from the downstairs shower room and toilet. Upstairs there are a further 4 double bedrooms that enjoy high ceilings and classic sash windows. We only use hotel-grade pure cotton bed linen and towels, and each bedroom has it’s own hairdryer too.

In the luxury bathroom designed in a classic Victorian style features a freestanding, roll-top bath, separate shower, toilet and sink. There’s room to relax in this light and airy room.

Finally, at the rear of the house is our mature, fully-enclosed, secure garden. For the summer months there is an outdoor dining space and a gorgeous sheltered corner seat that’s perfect for reading a book or huddling for a chat.

You’ll have all of our beautiful home to yourself during your stay.

I’m on hand if you need anything, but otherwise I leave you in peace to enjoy your trip to this stunning city of Cambridge.

I genuinely believe that this is one of the best places to stay in Cambridge because when you venture outside, the whole of Cambridge is on your door step. At the end of the road you have a choice of convenience stores, coffee shops and independent bakeries who hand make breads, cakes and pastries to die for. If you turn left out of the front door you’re on Mill Road in a matter of minutes and have your choice of restaurants, independent shops, pubs and bars. It’s bustling area of Cambridge that’s incredibly popular with the locals.

But if it’s the historic part of the city that you’re after, you’re just a few minutes walk away from Parker’s Piece, one of the best green spaces in the city. The colleges belonging to the world-famous university are just a few minutes further along Regent Street where you can also find historic pubs, contemporary bars and restaurants, plenty of shopping choices and of course, the River Cam where punting is a must.

Our extensive guest manual has information on all of the hot spots and must-see attractions.
