About this property
Set within the Peak District countryside, a beautiful barn conversion.
Once part of the village farm, this beautiful barn conversion has been lovingly renovated to include all of the home comforts you would expect, whilst retaining its rural countryside heritage and charm. The stylish interiors have been seamlessly blended with the exposed beams and items sourced from the local carpenter.
Upon entering The Old Hen Shed, you are welcomed by the beautiful open-plan kitchen and dining area. The well-equipped kitchen is a spacious and homely area, equipped for even the keenest of chefs, and is the perfect place to cook up your favourite meal or spend an afternoon baking with the little ones. The kitchen boasts a Nespresso coffee machine too, so you can sit and enjoy a morning coffee in solitude, whilst the house awakens around you. The dining area is a bright and airy space, with ample space for big celebrations or intimate dinners together. Stone steps lead down into the cosy sitting room, that offers a sumptuous velvet sofa and a cosy electric wood burning stove, so you can curl up together in front of the Smart television and watch your favourite movie, or relax and read a book. The large french doors lead out to the rear garden and offer uninterrupted views of the Peak District countryside. There is also a utility room and cloakroom downstairs too.
Upstairs, there are two well-appointed, stylish bedrooms, both of which enjoy an en-suite bath or shower room. The principle bedroom offers a king-size bed, and en-suite bathroom, whilst the second bedroom offers another king-size bed, that can be configured as twin beds upon request, and an en-suite shower room, making The Old Hen Shed the perfect place for a couples retreat, or a well-needed family holiday.
Heading outside, there is a south-facing front patio area that has ample garden furniture, perfect for alfresco dining, or enjoying an evening tipple whilst admiring the beautiful views. To the rear of The Old Hen Shed is the lawned garden area. The rear garden is fully-enclosed and is the perfect place for the children to explore and play, whilst the grown-ups relax on the comfortable garden furniture. The Old Hen Shed guests have access to private off-road parking for up to two cars and there is also a secure bicycle storage area, for those wanting to make the most of the local cycling routes.
Located in the quaint village of Taddington in the Peak District National Park, you have the wonders of Derbyshire on your doorstep. Take advantage of the bus routes to local towns such as Bakewell and Buxton, where there is an abundance of boutique shops and pretty cafes, or step out of the front door of The Old Hen Shed and head on an adventure on one of the many walking and cycling routes. The traditional village pub is only a short walk away too and serves delicious food and local ales.
