Sweet Stay in Rustic Cabana

It is very spacious with a cute kitchenette with everything you need…4 burner gas stove top, kettle, coffee maker, utensils, dishes, fridge and spices probably from previous guests. Well equipped with coffee filters, soap, sponges, towels etc. It is a rustic vibe with shutter blinds that don’t block out street noise and neighbours etc. I was surprised it had 2 bedrooms also. I loved chilling on the enclosed patio in the hammock. Nice sized bathroom and shower. I really enjoyed my cozy stay!

Communication was great!! Easy entry into the home and close to shops and the beach. While it's not directly on the beach, it's a short walk to get there. We woke early to take the short walk over and enjoyed a gorgeous sunrise. Close to grocery store, gellato and coffee shops. Restaurants only a few minutes walk and close to the Hokey Pokey water taxi and bank.

This is the most basic a rental can get. So, at the VERY least I need the WiFi to be functional. Also, there are no keyed dead bolts to lock the door. Sharing because had I known that I would not have stayed here.

The room was easy to find, just like in the pictures. The provided amenities were very complete. However, the lock was old and often got stuck. We got locked out of the room twice. There was no staff available on Sunday morning, and it was ridiculous that they didn't respond to my message until Monday morning. The internet coverage was extremely poor, so don't expect to be able to use it.

Carol's Cabanas

I have already submitted a review. Placencia is a beautiful unspoiled gem. The beaches are spectacular. Carol's Cabanas - Tarpon is located on the main st and very noisy into the wee hours. As it was very inexpensive my expectations were not high BUT it was clean, had 2 bedrooms, a kitchenette ( no oven) a screened porch and suitable bathroom facilities. Water pressure was low, hot water took a while and the porch furniture needs replacing, badly. The local Vacasa problem solver was at the north end of the Peninsula but once he came he helped with a couple of things, like how the safe worked - there was hidden key - and replacing a faulty outdoor light. Carol of Carol's Cabanas as a host was not very helpful, but did get the fix it guy to come. I'd use Vacasa again but this location was too noisy.

Disappointing …

The accommodations were not as advertised. It was on Main Street as indicated, but as it didn’t have any A/C the street noise was distracting with all the screened windows open, only ceiling fans and one stand fan to circulate the second story air. The directions were vague, outdated and difficult to find the premises - no mention was made of the steep stairs required to gain entrance nor was it secure - with only poorly structured lock bolts and no outside lights. The issues with the lights and wifi were promptly addressed, but the property wasn’t worth the charge, especially in off season.

Disappointing. The directions via email were not effective, the listing description was also not accurate, nor was the welcome binder. Centrally located, but very noisy as screens had to stay open as there was no A/C. Unit didn’t lock without significant effort with the locks so unit was insecure both when present and absent from it. Good communication and prompt action when outside lights didn’t work (needed to navigate steep stairs - also not mentioned…) and WiFi not connection. Overall, not worth the price charges.

Great staff

I am giving a higher review simply because of the staff at Vacasa. The home itself could use some sprucing up. The staff were great as was Carol herself. We enjoyed being right on main street and all that comes with that.

Nice spot

This was a nice spot close to beach and bar/restaurants. Sits right on main road so pretty noisy and busy. Also no air conditioning for those that really need it
