Mexico City in November
The good:•After the taxi took us to the wrong address the host came and took us to the vacation rental at 1 am. •The location was very good. The neighborhood was quiet and safe•Laura, the host responded to our messages with some delay. We used Google Translate to translate our English to Spanish and Laura’s Spanish to English.•There were plenty of blankets and towels.Problems with the vacation rental:When we arrived, it was obvious the rental was not prepared for guests.•The bathroom had no soap or shampoo•The hot water heater was turned off•No bars or hooks in bathroom for towels•Water backed up in the shower because the shower drain was partially clogged. When we requested drain cleaner to clear what was blocking the drain, we were told to clean the shower with bleach.•The scatter rugs were filthy. Overall it was difficult to tell if some floors were clean because the concrete floors were very worn.•The microwave oven’s cord was too short. To plug it in we needed to move it on to where it was partially on the stove.•The listing said there was a hot tub. There was no hot tub.•In the living/dining room the ceiling light had two bulbs that were so low we walked in to them. •The bulb in the bedside lamp was burned out. We requested that a replacement bulb and were told that one would be left outside the door. The bulb was not left.•One of the chair’s seat was missing screws holding it to the frame. •Another chair had a loose back.
