Dating back to the 1600’s, originally a dairy farm and now a beef, cattle, and sheep enterprise, this setting makes the ideal location for a holiday. This restful shepherds hut retreat has its own private bathroom facilities and is located in the owner’s breathtaking valley gardens. It is beautifully furnished and nestles at the foot of the glorious, majestic Wrekin Hill. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Morrells Wood Farm is ’that perfect get away!’ Indeed, many regard the views from this vale of tranquillity as ’little Switzerland’, and as its name sake, the panoramic scenery is stunning. The central location makes it the perfect base if a day or two exploring (or longer) is on the agenda. If not, then simply enjoy Mother Nature at its best whatever the season. Shropshire is a beautiful county, which is becoming more and more popular with tourists, with towns like Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Ludlow, which are all easy to get to from Morrells Wood Farm. The relaxed pace of countryside life is complemented by a huge amount to see and do. You can enjoy Ironbridge Gorge and its museums or a trip to Wroxeter Roman city and the nearby vineyard. There are 4 National Trust properties within an hour’s drive, the closest being Attingham Park, then Powys Castle, Chirk and Dudmaston are slightly further afield but make for a great day out exploring the Welsh Borders. Ludlow Castle, food centre and racecourse, the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and Acton Scott working farm are all popular tourist attractions. The Glider Centre on the top of the Longmynd and Cardingmill valley are not to be missed, and for the more adventurous there are nearby outdoor attractions from quad trekking, mountain boarding, zip wire, high ropes, clay pigeon shoots and archery. Shop 3 miles, restaurant and pub 1¼ miles.
