Riverside Cottage is nestled in a serene and tranquil haven overlooking the river Ribble. This beautifully presented character cottage dating from the 17th-century, oozes charm from the minute you step inside. Immaculately presented with a blend of stylish country and contemporary furnishings of high quality.
Approached along a 1-mile farm track from the hamlet of Paythorne and set in 12 acres of the owners’ private grounds with access to the riverbank from the cottage for pretty riverside strolls and scenery to take your breath away. Entering the property, you are greeted by a cosy open plan living room/kitchen area. Curl up on the sofa next to the warmth of the electric fire and watch your favourite shows. A dining area can be found to the left of the kitchen with double glass doors to ensure you never miss an opportunity to soak up the views. An enclosed boot room is the perfect place to store those muddy boots and coats.
Wander upstairs up the spiral staircase to be greeted by a comfy double bed, a great place to rest your head and unwind ready for your next day’s adventures. A convenient en-suite bathroom with a cubicle shower and a beautiful claw foot bath.
Relax and dine alfresco on the pretty patio or undercover sitting area and watch the world go by. Set on the edge of the Forest of Bowland an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ which offers spectacular landscapes, forest trails, bird watching, sika deer and even otters may be spotted on the waterways. For walkers and cyclists, the Pennine Bridleway and Ribble Way are within ½ mile and the leafy country lanes lead to many unspoilt areas with Pendle Hill close by. There is a great pub within 1 mile and further afield you can find a garage, deli/café, and a variety of country pubs and restaurants. The market towns of Settle, Skipton and Clitheroe are around a 20 minutes’ drive away with easy access to the whole of the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and West Coast.
