About this property
Secluded villa with large pool in lovely gardens. 1 hour from Nice airport!
Over the bridge, through the gates and down the driveway and you are in your own private world, not overlooked by anyone. Surrounded by trees, gardens and the scents of a Provencal summer. The villa has extensive olive terraces, lemon trees and a large 12.5 metre pool with an adjacent summer kitchen, toilet, and shower. Down here you will also find the laundry room with washing machine, clothes drying, iron and ironing board. The 3 patios have seating round the house, with an outdoor eating area under shady grape vines.
There in an indoor dining area with a table that seats 10, a living room with an large L shape sofa and open fire, a kitchen with oven, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher and plenty of pans, crockery glasses and so on. A Bose speaker allows you to play your music, while a record turntable and CD player is available also. Downstairs is the bar/gamesroom with a sit up bar and barstools for the cocktail hour, table football, TV, and doors which open to table tennis on the bar patio.
Up a spiral wooden staircase to the bedroom level, there are two wings. The first leads to the main bedroom with a Queen bed, drawers, and a separate dressing room with built in wardrobes. Next to that is a bathroom with bathtub, walk-in shower, toilet, bidet, and basin.
In the second wing are three bedrooms, two with a balcony looking out over the gardens and pool. These are respectively a twin bedded room and double bedded room. Next is another twin bedded room and then a bathroom with a toilet, two basins, bidet , bath and shower.
No-one overlooks the property or gardens, which extend right up to the woods of the nearby hills. You will have it all to yourself. If you want some time chilling, lie in the hammock on the terrace, or under an olive tree by the pool and read a book-go right ahead! if you want to play table tennis, swim or join in with everyone else then that's there for you too.
At night there is a "dark sky" with no light pollution and the Milky Way arcs right over the house. If you are lucky you may spot shooting stars.
Even though the villa is secluded, it's only 15 minutes walk into the medieval hill top village which has 3 restaurants, a pizzeria, 2 bars and an art gallery. There is a set of boules to take to play if you want to join the locals in the village square which has a fabulous view over the rolling provencal countryside. There is a small supermarket where you can pick up any day to day needs, plus bread and croissants!
There are local vineyards that offer wine tasting, a wonderful market in the next village which sells cheese, fruit and vegetables and reasonably priced clothes, scarves and locally made soap.
About 20 minutes drive away is the St Cassien lake, a freshwater reservoir set in a nature reserve, which is great for swimming. Various beaches are dotted around with bars and restaurants, and there are pedalos, paddle boards and kayaks you can rent. There are also a couple of fun water parks with inflatable floats for climbing on and jumping off-great for older kids and adults .
Grasse is worth visiting as it still has perfume production and you can visit some of the factories and buy the products. And of course the beaches of the Côte d'Azur are about an hour away!
