Nice little house a short distance from beach

We stayed for a month in March/April. Pros: The house is as pictured- I recommend watching House Hunter episode. Nearly everything was provided, & basic starter supplies were included (4 TP, 4 dishwashing tabs, dish soap, etc). We paid $40 for a housekeeper, & she refilled the shampoo, soap, and dish soap. House has some beach/pool toys, towels, a small cooler, broom and dustpan, too. Nice to have. Management company is proactive & helpful, providing a grocery service @ a 20% charge. It was nice to have groceries waiting! Resort shuttles run often to/from beach & hotel. The resort provides a number of blue /white beach lounges w/ good availability. Beach has nice trees for shade & was clean & the ocean warm and clear, & also pretty calm. Nice landscaping, clean property. Wildlife in the area. Iguanas, monkeys, hummingbirds, *raccoons & skunks. Trash pick up daily by 4 PM at foot of steps. Sm. spigot near steps to remove sand from feet. Cons: Little privacy with houses side by side (+/-15'). Somewhat noisy in evenings with music, loudspeakers, etc. eminating from pool/activities directly above the house until quiet hours begin. The house is fairly well equipped but could use more kitchen tools, such as a wire whisk, scraper spatulas, a grater, etc. Raccoons jump on roof nearly every night, several x/night, fighting/playing & woke us up despite our white noise. Skunks also freely roam property. A/C brings scent inside. ALL open food must go in fridge- Tiny ants!

Loved our Villa, The resort not so much.

The Villa was beautiful, with a well stocked kitchen for cooking. Loved our plunge pool as it was about 37 degrees with the humidex. Would recommend a car, as there aren't alot of restaurants, and one small grocery store in Hermosa. We were not impressed with the resort, Villa Sol. The large pool with swim up bar was filthy the entire month we were there. First time in, experienced a rash. About 40% of the loungers at the pool had broken backs on them. The small pool at the top of the mountain near the hotel lobby was nice, but maybe had 8 lounges, always occupied. The buffet (which we paid for) was passable. Had difficulty finding food I liked. Beach access is owned by another all-inclusive, so beach chairs are only for their guests. At least there was a shuttle, otherwise the constant walking up and down steep hills is not the way I want to spend my vacation.

December '22/January '23 Family Christmas stay

We just returned from our stay at Casa D'avida. For two weeks over Christmas my 82 yr. old parents and our 23 yr. old son & GF joined us so there were 6 of us in the villa. The location is perfect for day trips to the nearby national parks and we had rented a vehicle to use which we safely parked in the resort every night. We made family meals together, shopped for food & supplies in Playa Hermosa and Playas del Coco nearby. While we enjoyed walking to the beach, and down the beach to the other end, my parents took the resort shuttle so they didn't have to climb the hills in the heat. The shuttle service was frequent and the drivers are very kind. We enjoyed the resort pools but mainly the Villa plunge pool - which is great for cooling off and relaxing. During our time we were in touch with the property manager, Sebastian, who was quick to respond and act on our requests. Since we were there for an extended time, he also helped us secure a cleaning person, Carmen, who was excellent. After our family departed, we spent time relaxing and enjoying the resort which always seemed to have live music available, and activities, if you choose to participate. The AC worked well and the wi-fi connection was strong. Overall we enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend the Villa. Thanks for the fun!

Month Long Work/Play at Casa da' Vida

We stayed for a month at Casa da'Vida, and the home was everything we needed! Internet was great for both me and my husband to work remotely, and Sebastian (the property manager) was able to provide a portable table for us to set up our computers/monitors. A/C worked great, and the plunge pool was absolutely the best...I would go out and work from the pool in the afternoons :-) Before we got here, I was unsure if you could actually walk to the beach, so let me clear that up for everyone. It is .6 miles from front door to beach, and the home is on the side of a hill, so it's a decent decline going to the beach, and conversely, a good incline coming home. We are in our late 50s, moderate fitness level, and we walked it every day. Shuttles are available, but we enjoyed the exercise. We ate at 3 different restaurants that are right on the beach (Playa Hermosa): Mariscos, Roberto's, Aqua. So, walk to the beach, enjoy the sunset at 6ish, and then walk home in the dark...no problem! And the overall location of the home is very convenient...there is a grocery store about a 5 min drive from home, plus there is a convenience store in the resort down by the beach. It takes like 10 minutes to drive to Playa Coco, and that area has a lot of food/shopping. The home has everything we needed to cook a few meals, and they also just added an outdoor bar-b-q grill. Bottom line: very comfortable home, close to conveniences, and would recommend staying here!

Casa da'Vida - great stay!

Our stay was fantastic. Villa del Sol is a great complex and the condo itself was perfect for a family of four. Everything in the condo worked as expected and there were no issues. The location in Playa Hermosa is centrally located with many activities nearby. The local restaurants were a unending supply of adventure for us as we explored Playa Hermosa. This was our first trip to this particular area of Costa Rica and will definitely have it on our list for a return trip. We did mark the property manager lower for two reasons. We had no contact from them as the property owner had indicated we would (we figured things out with the help of the reception team when the property manager didn't reach out) and secondly, there was miscommunication on check out. The Vrbo listing indicated check out was at 11am. The cleaning crew arrived a little after 10am saying check out was 10:30. They camped out on the patio and waited while we hurried to load the car and get out of their way. It would have been better if they had left and came back after we had departed. The experience was a poor end to an otherwise great stay - 4 Stars for the stay overall.

Villas Sol - Casa da' Vida. Playa Hermosa

We very much liked the property, as advertised, clean and functional. Property definitely needs an outdoor BBQ for cooking, however maybe Bernie and David figured with all the cats and racoons hanging around, best not to go there. Racoons were the worst part of the rental. Kinda aggressive and prone to going to the bathroom in the plunge pool. Villas Sol needs to take control of that situation because do not see it getting any better on its own. Home Away Sebastian and Daniela very nice and helpful.

Pura Vida from Costa Rica!!

Unfortunately we arrived 2 days late because of a snow storm ❄❄❄in North Dakota! ☹ Even tho we missed 2 days, the trip was wonderful!! The condo is beautiful! Everything is very comfortable. So nice to have 3 bedrooms. It is great having your own cooking area (we just used it for breakfast) and a small pool if you want to cool off. The large pool is just a short walk up the hill. Beautiful pool, huge hot tub, swim up bar and snacks! My advice is to get the pink wristband so you can get drinks and snacks there. The location is great! It is a short trolley ride to the beach, maybe 5 to 7 minutes. The beach is beautiful. The black sand is a strange sight, much different than anyplace I've been. The sunsets are gorgeous!!!! I would recommend Roberto's on the beach for lunch! The fish tacos and red pepper shrimp are great!! Gingers, a short ride or walk from the condo, is wonderful! We went for an evening meal. Depending on the day and season, you might want to make a reservation. We did a day trip to Buena Vista, which included the ride there, horse back riding, lunch, zip line or hanging bridge, 1/4 mile water slide and a trip to the hot springs for a mud bath and relaxation. Exhilarating! We wanted to go on a sunset sail but were unable to because of the wind that day. ☹ Coco Beach is a fun little town to visit. Lots of resturants and souvenier shops to visit. The fruit markets are also great! All in all, I highly recommend going!!! I can't wait to go back!!!♥️♥️

Amazing!

This was our first experience with VRBO and we were soooo full of concerns and questions. We were able to visit we the owners and our vacation was everything we hoped for. The other 2 couples we traveled with were older also, and worried about getting around. From the time we arrived and all thru our stay we were taken care of, both excursions and any travel questions. We opted to have our fridge stocked and that was a huge help. Highly recommend the sunset sailboat tour, beautiful!!! Several places to dine on the beach and all were very good. What a beautiful home in a beautiful location!!

Beautifully Decorated, Well Maintained, and Amazing Location

Wow, It was just as the pictures showed. There was everything you would need in the villa itself. Easy check in at anytime of day. Gated community so safe and secure. Lots of parking close to the villa. Bernie responded to my questions at the beginning and accepted our booking in a timely manner. The villa was clean, the beds were comfortable and there were lots of towels. Daniella and Sebastian were available for anything we need prior to our flight with a great introductory email. They dropped by the first day to introduce themselves, answer any questions, and to make sure everything was in order for an enjoyable stay. They responded quickly to any questions we had and were extremely helpful. They even offered the option of having the grocery shopping done for us before we arrived - on our next visit we would use that service. The homemade pizzas they sell are very yummy after a long day sightseeing or a day at the beach. They did an amazing job booking expeditions and giving very detailed driving directions! Thank you both so much for all you did! It was very much appreciated! I would highly, recommend staying at this villa! Jacquie & Greg

A perfect place to both relax and launch adventures

Our nine days at Casa Da'Vida in Playa Hermosa was outstanding, a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation we enjoyed as a family. Casa Da'Vida worked great as a hub for exploring Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Within 1 to 2 hours drive are multiple national parks in the mountains, great for canopy tours (ziplining), hiking, waterfall discovery, and more. Our favorites where Rincon de la Vieja and Tenorio (Rio Celeste and Finca Verde). Closer to Playa Hermosa are other canopy tours (Congo was our favorite) and numerous Guanacaste beaches (loved the snorkeling!). Some of the best time was spent in and around Casa Da'Vida, though - enjoying the view of the Pacific to the west from the patio with plunge pool (in the shade and high enough to catch all the breeze), swimming in the complex's larger pool, and plenty of time on Playa Hermosa in the sand and surf, just a five minute walk (or shuttle ride) from Casa Da'Vida. Time on the quiet, beautiful beach became our late afternoon ritual. With great restaurants and groceries within walking distance, Casa Da'Vida was an easy place to enjoy. The unit itself was spacious and extremely comfortable throughout, with all the modern amenities - also an easy place to simply relax. Bernie and VRBO were great to work with - great communication all along the way. I can't think of a better spot for enjoying Guanacaste and the northwest part of Costa Rica. We will certainly be back, hopefully sooner than later!

Fantastic adventure

Five of us stayed for a week at this villa. Spent time at the beach, shopping, and fishing. This house is perfect = wifi for those times you need to connect back home. Three bedrooms with 2 baths - plus full kitchen and the patio/pool for hanging out and visiting. Four restaurants on the beach - plenty of fresh fish on the menus. Association has swim-up bar/pool area for lounging and activities throughout the day. Plenty of wildlife wandering around - monkeys, iguana, and birds. Occasional racoon sightings as well.

Wonderful vacation house.

Our primary home is in Fargo, ND and love to get away during the nasty winter to our vacation home in Costa Rica! We are very into the arts and work as a college professor and a realtor.

Why they chose this property

We chose this property because of its beautiful ocean view and the amenities onsite. Proximity to the beach was a must in our property search and having our own pool in addition to the community pools is a big plus.

What makes this property unique

In addition to the beautiful ocean view and private pool, we have very friendly neighbors. Everyone we've met in the complex is happy to be there - and who wouldn't be! We have renovated the kitchen and added a dishwasher, washer and dryer.
