About this property
Dune Giardino, Scicli, Italy
This private little semi-detached villa is just 50 meters from an unspoiled long beach and the glorious Mediterranean Sea. It makes the perfect base for anyone who wants to enjoy a holiday in the sun but also have the chance to explore the Baroque jewels of south-eastern Sicily.
This attractive villa, which sleeps 6, is full of light and encourages guests to live indoors and out, with a private terrace and a shaded pergola, where guests can dine or relax in peace. The open-plan living room has cool tiled floors and a glass door which opens onto the shaded terrace. Indoors, there is a corner sofa and a satellite TV. In between this seating area and the kitchen is a dining room with a wooden dining table and chairs. Beyond this is the sun-filled, fitted kitchen, equipped with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and coffee machine. Another large sliding glass door opens from the kitchen onto the terrace.
This terrace is an extension of the villa as it has an outdoor dining area, as well as an external living room, furnished with a sofa and armchairs. Further down the terraced garden guests can relax on sun loungers.

Location
In a quiet part of southern Sicily, close to some beautiful beaches and historical centers, this villa is in an ideal position. Scicli (15-minute drive) is a fascinating, less visited jewel of a town, packed with Sicilian Baroque architecture.
There are many festivals throughout the year in Scicli, but the two most famous are “Uomo Vivo” (Man Alive) at Easter – a procession which finishes at the beach of Donnalucata (10 minutes) and the Madonna Al Cavallo, at the end of May, to celebrate the town’s defeat of the Saracens.
The small town of Cava d’Aliga is just 5 minutes away. Here guests can find food shops and a supermarket as well as pizzeria, and other restaurants to suit all budgets.
If you are inspired by the tasty local cuisine and want to try to recreate it yourself, Scicli’s weekly market takes place on Tuesday in Via Saffi. There is a larger market every Wednesday in the football stadium in Ragusa (40 minute drive). Ragusa is certainly worth a visit. It hosts a prestigious music competition and festival which takes place every July. As well as being home to some of the finest Baroque palaces on the island of Sicily.
Catania’s international airport is a 1 hour 35 minute drive from the villa. Electricity charges to be paid on the spot: EUR 0.35 per KW
