About this property
Cosy St Ives Town Family Cottage, Sleeps 4, Pet friendly
Bos Cres, Cornish for 'house in the middle', is a granite cottage situated on a quiet, side street, seconds from the heart of St Ives Town with its maze of cobbled streets, harbour, and award-winning beaches.
If you are looking for a glossy, high-end 'boutique' accommodation, perhaps we are not for you. However, if you are looking for a traditional, sympathetically renovated and comfortable family cottage that is pet-friendly, then we look forward to welcoming you.
The space
Our fisherman's cottage was built in the mid-1800s, and we try to make it feel like a home from home, a place where you can relax after a day at the beach or pottering around the cobbled streets of our pretty seaside town. The ground floor of the cottage has a sitting room and kitchen. The first floor is where both bedrooms and bathroom are. The first bedroom has a double bed, and the second bedroom has two single beds. We accept pets for an additional fee; we ask that they are not let up on the furniture or beds and that the towels provided are not used for pets.
Let's talk about parking. We do not have parking at the cottage. We are a few minutes from the Station Carpark or ten to fifteen minutes from the Island Carpark.
Parking is usually not a problem out of season, but during the summer months, you may have to park at the coach park at the top of town, but there is a footpath that leads back to town. We usually drop off our belongings at the cottage and then park up. You can purchase daily or weekly parking tickets, and there is a very good bus service if you would like to visit any of the surrounding towns. One more thing to note: the roads around St Ives can be pretty narrow, so be careful.
We are happy to take Short Stays (3 nights), but over the school holidays and the summer, we try to prioritise families looking for a week's stay first. Closer to the time, and if the cottage has not been booked, we would gladly accept a shorter stay.
From July to mid-September, we only accept 7 or 14-night stays, with a changeover on Saturdays.
From Christmas to New Year, we have a minimum stay of 5 nights.
Also, if you are bringing a dog, please let us know. There is an additional fee of £35. If you want to bring an additional dog, please contact us before booking.
Unfortunately, the rubbish collection in St Ives is just that – rubbish! As the streets are so narrow, there is no space for an outside bin. If you are in the cottage for longer than a week, we can arrange to collect the rubbish. If you do happen to leave rubbish in the property when you depart, there will be a £3 charge per bag. This is what the cleaner charges to remove them to the tip. I hope you understand.
