About this property

Rural Retreat with Sunset View

A beautifully presented Sussex Granary in a tranquil rural setting, adjacent to the South Downs and two miles from the historic market town of Arundel. Take in the stunning views of the Sunset and open Countryside from every angle.

Whether you seek a romantic retreat or a getaway with friends, The Sussex Granary promises an unforgettable experience in the comfort of this idyllic haven. Welcome to your perfect escape.

Enjoy our enchanting Victorian Barn, nestled in an acre of picturesque grassland with uninterrupted views of the Sussex countryside.

Dating back to circa 1860 and lovingly renovated in 2023, this unique retreat offers warmth, tranquility, and comfort.

Step through the door and into the spacious boot room/utility area, your gateway to relaxation.

The luxurious main bathroom beckons with its Bateau bath, perfect for indulgent soaks, and a large walk-in shower.

Ascend the English oak staircase to the main floor, where an open-plan layout awaits.

Here, you'll find a sumptuous king-size bed with an adjacent ensuite bathroom featuring a shower.

The sofa offers prime seating with panoramic views of the fields and distant woodland, ideal for savouring the sunset with a glass in hand.

Open the stable door on the North side for a glimpse of the Priory walled garden, or retreat to the sunny window seat on the south, overlooking the drive, garden, and pond.

This cozy nook is perfect for enjoying a morning brew while watching the sunrise or basking in the afternoon sun.

The fully equipped kitchen, nestled in the corner with quartz worktops and modern appliances including a microwave and dishwasher, invites culinary adventures.

Nearby, a 4-8 place dining table provides a charming setting for shared meals.

Ascend to the secluded mezzanine, offering surprising privacy and featuring a small double bed and a workspace desk for essential tasks or last-minute study sessions.

Please note that while sight lines are private, noise may carry due to the open-plan layout.

In the summer months, gather around the fire pit on the stone circle to bask in the sun, toast marshmallows or admire the dark skies.

Immerse yourself in the wonders of nature at our secluded retreat, where you can reconnect with wildlife, marvel at sunsets, and stargaze under the twinkling night sky.

The Sussex Granary offers a haven of peace and tranquility, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

an idyllic south downs get-away
The care love and attention to detail that the owners have put into this property were evident from the moment we opened the door. The property is gorgeous, quirky and perfectly in keeping with its history and location. Every detail had been thought about from the shoe horns at the front door to the fire pit with sunset views. Waking up to the views over the fields will stay with us a long time. The owners were lovely and very attentive and offered some great advice and recommendations. I would strongly recommend this property.
