About this property

1930’s CASITA - in the SWEET HEART of Santa Fe! (South Capital)

'CASA DITA' is an enchanting 1930's Adobe Casita in the Heart of Santa Fe! Location is really a plus for us at Casita Dita. You can walk to to the Plaza, Farmers Market/Railyard District and Canyon Road areas. The South Capital area where the casita is located is an established neighborhood with a great mix of architecture, old trees, small streets and residents.Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and Kaune’s Neighborhood market are all within walking distance or a short 3 min. drive away.
The little casita has been maintained with loving attention and detail to comfort creating a warm and inviting turn-key experience. Enjoy sitting outside on the stone patio sipping your coffee in the sweet high desert air, or snuggled in front of the fire when winter comes.
For those looking for a respite from the BIG city or exploring "the oldest capital city " in the USA with all it's unique architecture, food, and culture, Santa Fe offers SO many options! Known for exceptional restaurants , Indian and Spanish markets, Ski Santa Fe Mountain, The World Class Santa Fe Opera and the Canyon Road Christmas Eve walk. All are experiences not to be missed. Considered one of the largest art markets in the country, Santa Fe offers exceptional gallery and museum experience.
* The history of the region is rich in culture and tradition. Day trips are a must. The Northern NM communities ( Taos, Chimayo, Truchas, Penasco, Mora) are a step back in time and very unique. The Native People of the region are still on their ancestral homelands and living in their Pueblos dotted along the Rio Grande. Pretty special.

Delightful bungalow!!

We SO enjoyed our time in Santa Fe at this charming little house! It had everything we needed, was central to the various parts of town (walkable to the Plaza), and the attentiveness and availability of Robin the host is the very best! We recommend this lovely casita MOST highly!

Cute and cozy house just a short walk from plaza

Casa Dita was the perfect home base for my partner and I to explore SF. It is just a short walk to downtown/the Plaza and an even closer walk to the Railyard district. We enjoyed relaxing with coffee on the patio in the mornings and found the house super comfortable. Robin was an amazing host - super communicative and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Amazing

Having your own little, Casita is amazing! Your own little place, no walls connected to others. And parking! A full on kitchen even laundry, which I couldn’t figure out, but that’s just user error. Adorable patio with bonus birdfeeder and birdbath for birdwatching.

Casita-Home Away from Home

Upon opening the door, the Casita graced us with a welcoming warmth and vibrancy of color and decor. The ambience made us feel as if we were in our little home away from home. The bed was extremely inviting and comfortable after a day of driving. Our host, Robin was cordial and lovely, making us feel welcome with information about the casita and the town of Santa Fe. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. The Casita is centrally located to downtown and the scenic drives and hikes nearby. It was hard to leave this charming abode and the majestic beauty of Santa Fe.

Beautiful Casita in a Prime Location

I booked this for my 88 year old uncle who is very active and wanted a place that was walkable to downtown. He walked to breakfast every morning and to all the downtown activities during Indian Market, He walked to Canyon Road and spent the day visiting all the galleries. It was the perfect place in the perfect location. Robin was very communicative about any questions we had. Would definitely book again!

A Charming Casita

My wife and I spent six weeks at this charming Casita. The location is centrally located to the square in Santa Fe; no more than a fifteen-minute walk. The Railyard and its farmer's market are within walking distance and there are numerous galleries close by as well. The Casita itself has everything for a carefree stay in Santa Fe. Kitchen is small but has everything one would need; food shopping is close as Trader Joes is quick drive away. There is a European style washer/drier, bath with shower, air conditioning, and a comfortable queen size bed. The Casita is well appointed with comfortable chairs, a small dining table, and a comfortable couch. More importantly, the internet is quite good. The historic neighborhood has an eclectic mix of people and everyone was friendly. Our host was wonderful, making the check in process simple, and made every effort to make our stay enjoyable and carefree. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Casita and look forward to returning.

Great location

The casita was a perfect fit for two people. It is located within walking distance of coffee shops as well as a 10 minute stroll to the plaza area. The host was excellent at keeping in touch and answering questions. If you are a couple or just on a quick getaway with a friend, this casita is well priced and the neighborhood is charming.

Winter Respite

The Casita is a perfect home away from home. We stayed there a month and felt perfectly comfortable. The location was perfect for walking to the Plaza or the Railyard. Museum Hill was just a short drive. It was perfect too for driving day trips. Several fabulous sights just an hour away. Robin was very accommodating in offering tips on travel as well as making sure we had everything we needed. There is a cozy fireplace and Robin made sure we had plenty of wood. We would strongly recommend this space and hope to visit again.

Casita Dita is the place to stay

For a single person who wants to stay at a place with special character, Casita Dita is a delight. Charming interior, quiet and interesting neighborhood, and an easy walk to the plaza. Robin, your hostess, is unobtrusive, yet attentive to any needs or concerns. Adequate parking, but you can walk to groceries, take out, etc. If you want a cozy little hideaway in Santa Fe, you can't go wrong with Casita Dita. Wonderful stay.

Perfect Place For A Couple

This was truly one of the best VRBO properties we’ve ever stayed at. We stayed for three nights in March of 2020. It had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen had all we needed to cook at home, which we did one night. The shower was very nice, even for me, and I’m 6’6”. Between the dining area, living area, and patio, there were multiple places to sit to eat, drink and read. The fireplace was easy to use, and there was an ample supply of wood. The location is perfect. On a very quiet street, and a short, direct walk into the heart of downtown Santa Fe. It was nice to watch the birds come to the bird feeder each morning and evening. The hostess was always available via text, not that we needed much assistance at all. If you stay here, you should be very pleased with your choice.

A small but somewhat cozy home. Somewhat dusty with cobwebs in the kitchen.

A bit of a communication issue regarding check out. Robin did secure specific TV channels for me amidst the COVID-19 crisis.

The Sweetest Casita!

Casa Dita is a gem! As a former Santa Fe resident, I want to feel like I’m home when I’m in town and this sweet casita is perfect! It’s in one of the best neighborhoods in town (my favorite - perfect for strolling or just sitting in the garden and sky gazing), it’s walking distance to the Plaza, Railyard, you name it, and it’s cute and cozy. Robin is a great host and she’s done a great job making sure the casita feels like a home away from home with everything you need. One stay will spoil you for anything else!

Well provisioned gem near the heart of old Santa Fe

My wife and I booked this casita for our anniversary and were pleased with every aspect of our experience. Robin is a great host: communicative but not overbearing; immediately responsive to any questions or needs and knowledgeable about the town. The casita was perfect for us. Open living room/dining and kitchenette with all the utensils necessary for a stay of a week or longer. Bedroom and ensuite shower in separate room. Bed was firm. Storage is tight, though there are baskets for storage under the bed and hanging space in the bedroom closet/laundry and on racks next to the front door. Plan to store your suitcases in your car. Of course the amenity which makes the place a romantic getaway is the kiva fireplace in the great room. We enjoyed fires a couple of the nights we were there and found the fireplace easy to use. Many of the supplies that we have found missing in other rentals were provided (coffee, laundry detergent). The casita "great room" itself has a big picture window with a southern exposure and we found that by opening the blinds we did not need heat on sunny days even though temps were in the 40's. As an added benefit, Robin keeps a bird feeder in front of the picture window and we were treated to a parade of colorful birds all morning. Location was great: the Casita is between Galisteo and Gaspar only a block and a half south of the Paseo de Peralta. Easy walking distance to the Plaza, the railyard district and Canyon Road. We even walked up Santa Fe trail to Museum Hill (a little over a mile). Also having covered parking provided was a huge plus for us. We look forward to returning and staying at Casa Dita as soon as possible. Thanks, Robin.

Casita muy amable

This casita was the perfect place for our walking explorations of Santa Fe. It was VERY close to the places we wanted to go, and plenty close to groceries and coffee and the things one needs. The property is small but very well-equipped and logically laid out so we had very few of those "where do you suppose this is" moments. It was warm, comfortable, charming.

Santa Fe for two

The casita is ideal for a couple spending a long relaxing weekend in Santa Fe. We stayed for four days in November and were completely pleased with the comfort and ambiance of the house and its easy walking distance to the Santa Fe Plaza and nearby art galleries and restaurants. The house is also close to multiple running and hiking trails - running paths are literally right out the door and hiking trails in the foot hills are only a few miles away. Robin, the owner, was gracious and very helpful with information and recommendations as well as with assistance when we had a car problem. We have used VRBO for vacation stays multiple times and this property and the owner are among the best.

Highly recommended!!!

We stayed at this property for four days during a business trip to Santa Fe, and, yes, we were sad to leave... The casita is located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance from the downtown area. Super clean, comfortable and well appointed for those who enjoy the Santa Fe style. We loved the kiva although we did not use it, as well as all the amenities provided. Owner was attentive and helpful. The yard with the sitting area was lovely! We would love to stay in this property again!

I love New Mexico! I have been fortunate to travel and live far and wide. I have come back to New Mexico 3 times living in 3 different places. I am enchanted by the history and the natural beauty. I have explored many aspects of Santa Fe. For years I came to Santa Fe to ski, enjoy the restaurants, museums and go to 10,000 Waves the exquisite Japanese spa up the ski Valley Road. I guess I need to admit that this is my home ..spiritual and physical.

Why they chose this property

Why not this property!? The second I saw it I fell in love with the charm and location. It seems to have all that I would require if I was coming to visit Santa Fe/New Mexico for the first time.I hope it charms you as well!

What makes this property unique

The South Capital allows for visitors to feel like they are a part of Santa Fe. It is an established neighborhood with old houses and trees and very walkable to so many great sites and restaurants. The casita itself has so much intrinsic charm.
