Private parking for 1 car, additional unrestricted parking opposite. No smoking or e-cigarettes. . River View is situated in a picturesque location in the village of Youlgrave, Derbyshire. As you arrive, park up in the allocated bay by the house. There is further parking on the roadside as well.
On the ground floor there is a utility room with storage for boots and coats, and a kitchen/dining room equipped with cooker and fridge/freezer plus all the equipment you should need for your stay. The sitting room is just off the kitchen and has a cosy and homely atmosphere, especially when the fire is roaring creating a warm ambience; put your feet up after a day’s walking and exploring and watch your favourite shows on the TV. The bathroom is located on the ground floor which is a common yet quirky layout amongst cottages in the Peak District; it has a bath and a separate electric shower cubicle. On the first floor are two double bedrooms with comfortable, soft furnishings to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep. One of the bedrooms has a table if you need to work. The Wi-Fi is good and reaches upstairs. At the front is a garden with a bench from which you can enjoy watching the river and walkers passing by. At the back there is a table and chairs plus a bike rack.
From River View you can enjoy countless walks straight from the door, including the Limestone Way, which passes in front of the house. You might also walk to Robin Hood’s Stride, to one of the neighbouring villages of Birchover, Winster or Over Haddon, or simply take a flat easy stroll along the river itself. If you are feeling brave, there is a designated swimming spot just along the river. The water is cold! A short drive will take you to the Monsal Trail, High Peak Trail or Tissington Trail. Nearby is Haddon Hall and the stately home of Chatsworth House, which both host tours and events or allow walks around their beautiful gardens. Explore the local towns of Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock or Ashbourne which all boast their own individual personalities, but all have great parks too.
