About this property
The Barn at Stoaches - Country retreat with a pool
It’s a decent walk from sleepy Danehill to The Sloop Inn for Stilton arancino, or across the steamy Bluebell Line for a vineyard tasting. Come home to a mezzanine perspective on open-plan barn living for four plus pooch. This is a place of walking trails and cycle rides, where hoofs clop by on a Sunday morning (there’s horsebox space) and the real world recedes in the rear-view mirror awhile. Book up to swim on site in summer or just sit beneath the poolside palms and dream the day away.
THE SPACE
Switch off your phones. The world will still do its stuff while you explore a world of trails and culinary treasures. Hunker down in Stoaches Farm’s lofty, light-flooded space with family or friends and raid Denniker’s Farm Shop for home-kneaded meats and free-range Barcombe eggs.
Time has added gregarious grazing into the medieval mix in this rustic, open-plan retreat. Simmer, stir, be as social as you like. Pass the Bluebell-Vineyard wine and butter the bread around the chunky table or al-fresco around the pool. Eat together, catch Netflix favourites on the Fire TV, and be first to bag the mezzanine bed.
Before you drift off to the tremolo of the tawny owls, serenity reigns amid cards, charades, board games, books, and maybe the odd bedtime story, as a shortshower spatters the windows.
When the Sussex sun comes up, the palms add an air of LA living to the poolside ambience. Enhance your booking with the chance of a daily dip or just spread out on sun loungers and soak up the silence and the sunshine.
Bring your dog, bring your horsebox, bring your bikes, bring an infectious enthusiasm for offbeat walks with the Spring Farm Alpacas. Breathe the air, walk the trails, feed the foodie in you. Stoaches Farm is as wholesome as homemade hummus
