About this property
Manor Farm House sleeps 5 guests in 3 bedrooms
Thought to be the original manor house for the village of Kilmington, Manor Farm House is an attractive stone property which dates from early 19th century, and offers generous and comfortable accommodation for up to five guests. Well-located, sitting within Wiltshire, and close to the borders of Dorset and Somerset, you are spoilt for choice when looking for enjoyable days out, fun and adventure. Within a short car journey or cycle ride you have the choice of visiting the local towns of Mere, Gillingham, Shaftesbury, Frome, Wincanton, Warminster, and Shepton Mallet, and the many delightful villages in between.
Sitting just a mile away from King Alfred's Tower, and close to all of the stunning and world-famous National Trust Stourhead Estate, the location is perfect for exploring the amazing gardens, lakes, woodland, forest, and Palladian mansion. From the front facing windows of your holiday home, you can gaze at the rolling green hills of chalk grassland known as The Deverills, where you will find a collection of delightful rural villages, and a multitude of Bronze Age bowl barrows, neolithic long barrows and Iron Age settlements.
On arrival at Manor Farm House, you enter in to a hallway off which you will find a panelled sitting room with wood burning stove, television and comfortable seating. A large study, also with wood burning stove, sits at the front of the house too, and offers opportunities for reading, writing or playing a board game on the puzzle table. As you continue through the ground floor, you will find a piano room where you are invited to 'tickle the ivories', and you then continue on to the generous kitchen with electric Aga and island, and a spacious dining area overlooking the garden. A utility room and a cloakroom complete the ground floor accommodation.
Stairs take you up to the first floor where you will find a king-size bedroom with great front facing views and an en-suite bathroom. A second king-size bedroom, and a single bedroom, share the well-appointed family bathroom with separate shower enclosure which completes the picture of your spacious holiday home.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing break away, or a base for visiting some of the local sites and attractions including nearby Longleat, Stonehenge and Glastonbury, Manor Farm House is the perfect choice for up to five guests.
Additional Information:
One well-behaved dog welcome (additional charge).
Children and infants welcome. Please provide your own travel cot and high chair.
Off-road parking for two cars.
