Enjoyed the stay, pretty private place and area, was great having coffee on the porch and having a view of the pasture and mountains. Super easy drive into downtown Brevard.
This place is amazing. It is perfect for multiple families. Downstairs has two bunk rooms with multiple beds each and upstairs has two bedrooms with king size beds. All the beds, furniture are super comfortable. All the amenities are provided such as linens, towels, and everything in the kitchen you'll need. While it feels like you are out in a more secluded part of the Pisgah, you're actually only 7 to 8 minutes away from downtown. Our family can't wait to get back.
The setting was great. Loved the porches and enjoyed the evening visits from the neighboring cows.
Convenient to downtown Brevard and the Music Center,
This is a fantastic property for home based bike travel. Laura is amazing host! Second time renting.

Cute cabin. Enough beds for lots of people ~10. We had 8. Beds are comfy. Large kitchen table for 8 and plenty of outdoor seating. Used charcoal grill once and fire pit once. House overlooks field with cows and road. Sunsets were pretty from driveway and road. Close to DuPont, Pisgah and downtown Brevard. Can see mountains from house but not a close-up Mountain View. Needs a little updating and new wash machine. Kitchen and living room was fine. Overall Great stay!
I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised with this home. 1951 log cabin looks brand new insid and out. Propery very well kept! This home is well arranged, with bedrooms on 2 different floors. Lots of private for 2 families. The bunk beds are double. The home is so well stocked with great kitchen cookware, utensils, dishes, so many towels, blankets, pillows, sheets, games, books, and anything you need! Well worth them money. Great tranquil location. Minutes from downtown. Just do it!
I feel that the difficulty of even one car getting into and out of the narrow one lane "driveway" could have been made a little clearer. It is almost impossible to turn your car around and one must either back out of the "driveway" all the way to the main road, or when arriving, back all the way in from the main road, as there is nowhere at all to turn you vehicle around (other than in the neighbor's driveway). I don't know how any pickup truck could even make it up to the house and get back down. I just have a mid-sized SUV. That said, it is a very nice, clean and peaceful place to be. Loved the cows as "company". Just be aware of the difficulties getting into and out of the property.
The house is in a very nice and quiet location with a great view for sunsets looking over the pasture. The driveway is a little tricky if you have multiple cars, but really not too big of a deal. The layout worked great having two of the guys stay downstairs with their own bathroom and the other two upstairs with their bathroom. The only issue we faced was regarding the bike storage. It would have been nice to put the bikes in the garage, however that is not open to guests. Locking $13k in bikes on the back of the car and rainy nights was not ideal. If you're planning to use the house for a bike trip make sure you realize you cannot put the bikes in the house and do not have access to the garage. The house is great though and Laura was always quick to respond to any questions we had. Still a 5 star review!!!
Beautiful fall getaway overlooking a peaceful pasture.
We had a wonderful four night stay in the month of October during a weekend of peak foliage. What a treat! It was so peaceful to sit on the front porch and overlook the pasture of cows grazing, with the red, yellow, and orange colors popping off the hills. The property managers were incredibly kind and helpful, and made the check-in and checkout process a breeze. Our kids had an amazing time… Apple picking, mountain biking, hiking… All within a very short drive.
I rented this house for my family for a weekend getaway. It was great! The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. It was nice that the house was so clean and organized. Wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely recommend and will rent again!
We had a group of folks staying with a lot of mountain bikes and gear for a week. Good location to get to the forest and town. Plenty of room for all our stuff. Cow field in front of house pretty stinky for a couple of days when farmer spread manure
The cabin was clean and just as advertised. Communicating with the owner and property manager was easy. The cabin is quite close to town and easy to get to. My family and I really enjoyed ourselves.
Great communication with property manager who lives next door, who keeps the house spotless and just makes it an easy experience. The house has everything you would need and is very well equipped.
Would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone!
I stayed here with my two children (ages 4 and 8) in March 2021. We had such a wonderful time and found the house to be so peaceful. It rained much of our stay but the kids didn’t care as they were completely content hanging out at the house (as was I). There are some fun toys there for the littles - my kiddos keep telling me they want to “go to the house with the Mr. Potato Head.” Everything you need is in the house already, which was great as we flew in and didn’t want to pack things like olive oil or salt and pepper in my suitcase.
Sitting on the porch in the morning with a coffee was so lovely - that was my favorite part of our trip..
Lynn, the property manager, lives next door and is as sweet as can be.
Lots of extras at this rental. A real working kitchen with a coffee maker, coffee filters, and coffee in the cupboard. Yes!! Soap by the sinks and lots of extras make this a top property.
Property is not meant for more than 4 people even though it says it sleeps eight & has plenty of beds. Limited parking. Overall good stay. Lynn, the property manager, was very nice.
This is our family "home away from home". We invite you to come and enjoy the peace and tranquility that Brevard has to offer.
What makes this property unique
We bought this home when our children were younger as a place to getaway and enjoy the outdoors. We love to sit on the porch and look out over the pasture and the mountains beyond. This home is within minutes of downtown and a short car ride to either the Pisgah or Dupont forests for hiking. It is our hope that you enjoy the place as much as we do!
